It’s been a busy month for the Chinese tech company OPPO as they introduced three new devices and the company’s first local endorser within that time frame.
You’ve probably seen the advertisements with superstar Sarah Geronimo promoting the brand. Her endorsement was announced alongside the introduction of the Mirror 5 in August. And when OPPO launched its new R7 series smartphones in September, she was also on-hand to talk about the new products.
Big name endorser aside, what do these new devices have to offer? They are targeting three different price points while promising to offer the best experience for each device. All three phones run on OPPO’s ColorOS 2.1 user interface. The UI is based on Android 5.1 and it promises faster and improved overall experience for all devices.
The Mirror 5 is the most affordable at P9,990 but it doesn’t look the part. With elements like individual cut-glass and bi-metallic frame, the phone has a back panel that looks diamond-like and a build that’s sturdy enough for daily use.
This smartphone is built with a 5-inch display with 960 x 540 resolution, Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 1.2GHz quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, 8-megapixel rear camera and 5-megapixel front camera, and a 2,420mAh battery. Storage isn’t much of an issue either. While you only get 16GB internally, you can expand that up to 128GB via microSD.
If you want something in the mid- and high-end ranges, the R7 phones are something to look into. The R7 Plus and R7 Lite up the style factor with their full metal unibody design. The former has a gigantic 6-inch Full HD display, the latter sports a 5-inch HD display.
Both run on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 octa-core processor. The R7 Plus is more powerful of the two with 3GB of RAM and 32GB internal storage. The R7 Lite, on the other hand, is powered by 2GB of RAM and 16GB internal storage. Like the Mirror 5, both can handle up to 128GB via microSD. Both devices are also dual SIM. But the R7 Plus can take two nano-SIMs, while the R7 Lite can take on micro-SIM and one nano-SIM.
Battery capacity for the two devices is different, too, with the R7 Plus sporting a 4,100mAh battery and the R7 Lite coming with a 2,320mAh one. The R7 Plus also has OPPO’s VOOC Flash Charge to have you up and running and away from a socket faster.
Both phones come with 13-megapixel rear camera capable of taking 50-megapixel-quality shots in Ultra HD mode. Both come equipped with flash shot technology to make it easier to snap fast-moving subjects. For your selfie needs, both devices have an 8-megapixel front shooter.
The bigger R7 Plus retails for P21,990, while the R7 Lite goes for P13,990.
