To suit our personal style, we keep a lookout for products that express and complement who we are. These days, aesthetics and design have greatly influenced our purchasing decisions. Some opt for a complete minimalist vibe, while some seek to make a statement with the boldness and flashiness of the products they use. If you’re more of the former, then you’ll be happy to know that OPPO has released their latest true wireless earbuds — OPPO Enco Air2. It features a 13.4mm Dynamic Driver + Upgraded Bass Booster, unique translucent case lid design, and long-lasting battery life. Will it live up to its ‘performance beyond value’ claims? Read more to find out.
Design and build
Very simple and straightforward, the white earbuds incorporate minimalism in its design, making it easily likeable. One of its highlights — the translucent case lid — adds a unique touch that may also come in handy in helping you avoid misplacing your earbuds. Round-shaped with a matte finish, the case itself feels comfortable and easy to carry around. Meanwhile, the ergonomic and lightweight (3.5g) design of the earbuds provided the sought-after comfort, while maintaining a secure fit. That said, you can be carefree while doing low-to-moderate intensity workouts at home or even while jogging around your village. Inevitably it can get wet during your intense workout, but it’s not a cause for worry since it’s IPX4 water-resistant.
Performance
Thanks to its 13.4mm Dynamic Driver and upgraded Bass Booster, the punchy bass punches above its weight — it did an amazing job pumping me up while doing my workout routine. As I see it, the combination of the two significantly enhanced the overall sound quality. Since I love listening to music, it brought me such a delightful experience, and I’m sure music lovers will share the same sentiments. Furthermore, you can sing along to your favorite artists and enjoy the same clarity for the vocals throughout different volume levels. Not to mention, this will automatically heighten your experience, making it more immersive, if one chooses this for gaming.
Smart touch controls
While I do appreciate how responsive the controls are with just a tap, it might’ve gone a little overboard as its hypersensitivity caused the music to change or volume to increase/decrease while adjusting my earbuds to my liking. It can be inconvenient, but maybe once you get used to it, you can get the hang of avoiding sensitive touch points. To maximize the capabilities of your earbuds, you may download the HeyMelody app on your android phone. Here, you can choose from two new stereo sound effects — Bass Boost and Clear Vocals. Unfortunately, the HeyMelody for iOS doesn’t support the OPPO Enco Air2.
Battery
To complete the package, it houses a large battery that will ensure an uninterrupted listening experience throughout the day. OPPO claims that the earbuds can last you 4 hours without a case, otherwise it’s 24 hours.
Verdict
It goes without saying that the performance went beyond the price for the OPPO Enco Air2. From the moment you catch sight of it up to immersing yourself with its impressive audio quality, you’ll be surprised that it will only cost you P3499.
