Just when you think they couldn’t go any lower, they do. Chinese company OPPO kicks off the year with an affordable smartphone that comes with some of the brand’s key technologies.
The A83 is the fourth OPPO device equipped with a Full Screen Display and is the most affordable one from the brand to sport an 18:9 display. This time around it’s packaged in a 5.7-inch HD+ IPS 1,440 x 720 resolution screen. It also comes with OPPO’s AI Beauty Technology, which gathers from the millions of faces in their global image database and it helps determine everything from your skin tone and type to your gender and age to make sure the beauty enhancement it applies is tailored specifically for you. The OPPO A83 comes equipped with a 13-megapixel rear shooter with LED flash and 8-megapixel front camera.
The other key hardware powering this device includes 2.5GHz MediaTek MT6763 octa-core processor, 3GB of RAM, Mali-G71 GPU, 32GB expandable storage, and a 3,180mAh battery. It also runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat with ColorOS 3.2. It’s also a 4G LTE device with dual SIM support.
Looks-wise it follows the overall design and build of the OPPO F5 Youth but OPPO has taken away the fingerprint scanner on this device. But if you want a quick way to unlock the phone, the A83 does come with facial recognition. You can buy the OPPO A83 for P9,990.
