#OOTD Inspiration for Uniqlo’s Fall/Winter 2019 Collection

I don’t know about you, but I personally love the -ber months. Not only do we hear the Philippines’ (unofficial) National Christmas Icon, Mr. Jose Mari Chan practically everywhere we go, the evenings and early mornings are also blissfully cool—and that means we can finally dig out that paporma trench we bought on impulse that is too hot to wear otherwise.

And I know we live in a tropical country. But if you’re heading somewhere cold for the holidays…or if your school/office is just really cold—or you just want to sport a winter outfit (because why not?), I’ve compiled some #OOTD ideas from Uniqlo’s Fall/Winter 2019 collection along with some of their older staples:

1. Keep it Basic

You can’t go wrong with the basics. But don’t be afraid to mix and match styles to come up with what you feel your best in. Work your colors and patterns. Experiment with different materials and styles. Generally, a good rule of thumb is to use one pattern at a time paired with solids.

Here’s a pro-tip—especially if you’re travelling—layering is a lifesaver! Plan your outfits in several layers which you can peel on and off. So that if it gets a little bit too warm or cold, you can easily add or remove layers. Wear a light to medium outfit underneath (another pro-tip: Uniqlo’s Heattech line is usually a good choice as it is very thin and light but is also packs in warmth) and cover up with a cardigan, light jacket, parka or heavy coat (depending on the weather) tuck in a scarf as well.

2. Cozy Up

If you’re going for a dressier look, then a wool or light coat is for you. For a more casual, laid-back style, flaunt a jacket or parka. Light tones or solids can be paired with a bold or patterned piece to add a little extra something to your outfit.

Don’t be afraid to use color! A well-placed pop of color on you will bring your outfit together and serve as the focal point for the viewer. Be sure not to use too much color though as it may clash with each other. But hey, if that’s your style, then by all means—go for it!

If you’re pressed for space, then these foldable puffer jackets are your best friend as they’re light and easily tucked away. Plus, they have a water-repellent coating that can keep off light rain
