HMD Global is introducing four new phones locally in the coming weeks: the Nokia 7 plus, Nokia 1, New Nokia 6, and Nokia 8110 4G.
The first two are the ones we can expect this month. In fact, the P4,290 Nokia 1 is already available.
It is an entry-level Android Go-powered phone with a MediaTek MT6737M quad-core processor, 1GB of RAM, 8GB internal with 128GB expansion support via microSD, 4.5-inch FWVGA display, 5-megapixel rear shooter, 2-megapixel front camera, and removable 2,150mAh battery.

You may or may not be familiar with Android Go, but this is the version of Oreo that optimizes the operating system for devices powered by 1GB RAM and less. It makes sure that you get good performance out of these entry-level phones, which for markets like ours is an important thing.

Removable batteries and rear covers are definitely something we don’t see as often now

The Nokia 1 doesn’t just offer a decent performing device at a lower price point, but it provides customizability fans of past Nokia devices will love. The phone supports Xpress-on covers which you can simply pop off and change depending on your mood. Some of the colors we’ve seen include blue, pink, and yellow.

The Nokia 1 comes in Warm Red and Dark Blue and is available through Abenson, argomall, Lazada, and MemoXpress, and other authorized resellers.
Meanwhile, the Nokia 7 plus can be considered the company’s new flagship phone in the local market. We know the Nokia 8 Sirocco takes that title but according to HMD Global’s Country Manager Shannon Mead, there are currently no plans to bring that device here.

It is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 processor, Android Oreo 8.0, 4GB RAM, 64GB internal storage with microSD expansion up to 256GB, dual rear 12-megapixel and 13-megapixel ZEISS cameras, 16-megapixel ZEISS front shooter, 6-inch 18:9 display Full HD+ display, and 3,800mAh battery.

As an Android One device, you’re promised “pure, secure, and up-to-date Android” with monthly security updates coming to the Nokia 7 plus.
Yes, the audio jack is still there

The sleek-looking smartphone features an aluminum build but has a ceramic coating to make it easier to handle. It’s still a bit of a fingerprint magnet but not as severe as those released by its competitors.
We were told we’re getting the dual SIM variant which is accessible via this hybrid SIM tray (second slot serves as either microSD slot or SIM tray)

The Nokia 7 plus will retail for P21,990 and will be available in Black/Copper and White/Copper starting April 27. However, pre-orders are already available through Abenson, argomall, Lazada, and MemoXpress, and other authorized resellers. Home Credit is also offering the Nokia 7 plus at 0% interest over nine months when you apply through argomall.
