Nissan stirs its Terra lineup with new Sport variant

In a lineup that consists of two-letter combinations, Nissan defied its own norm by introducing the Terra Sport. It serves as the new top of the line model for the brand’s sole offering in the midsize-SUV battle in the Philippines and still comes in 4×4 and 4×2 flavors.

What sets the Terra Sport apart is the blacked-out treatment of its exterior appointments. The grille, skid plates, sidestep boards, door handles, spoiler, and rear bumper diffuser among others have been given the dark touch. The wheels are still at 18-inches but now comes in gloss black and has a new design that’s more apt for the outgoing individual.

The Terra Sport is built on the VL trim so expect almost the same amenities from it. It has the 2.5L turbo diesel engine with 7-speed automatic, Quad-LED automatic headlights, 4-eye front/rear sensors, zero-gravity 10-way powered driver’s seat, dual-zone automatic aircon, 11-inch flip down monitor with HDMI input, and the whole suite of Nissan Intelligent Mobility features. Take note that it has the 8-inch touchscreen, which is the same as the lower VE models, but has the same functionality as the VL like wireless Apple CarPlay, Navigation, and USB-C port.

However, there are a few exclusive bits for the Sport 4×4. The 8-speaker Bose Sound system, Electronic Rear Locking Differential, Hill Descent Control, and Off-Road monitor in the Around View Monitor are reserved for the 4×4 only. The 4×2 has to make do with a 6-speaker system, and only has Moving Object Detection supporting its 360-camera system.

“The Nissan Terra Sport is a perfect representation of Nissan’s innovative and exciting DNA,” said Nissan Philippines President Juan Manuel Hoyos. “With its rugged yet sleek styling, it perfectly embodies Nissan’s commitment to providing customers with vehicles that are not only functional but also stylish and fun to drive.”

The new Nissan Terra Sport comes in new colors called Fiery Red and Stealth Pearl Gray. Pricing for the Sport 4×2 is at P2,119,000 while the 4×4 is at P2,459,000. There’s also an adjustment for the other variants as they all get price bumps. The EL 4×2 MT is now at P1,709,000; VE 4×2 AT at P1,889,000; VL 4×2 AT at P2,059,000, while the former top trim VL 4×4 AT is now at P2,399,000.
