Nissan Philippines continues to lead EV adoption in the Philippines, driving conversations on EV infrastructure and educating the market.

Nissan Philippines co-presented the 10th Philippine Electric Vehicle Summit with the theme United in Driving Electromobility in Support of the Electric Vehicle Industry Development Act (EVIDA) held from October 20-21, 2022, at the SMX Convention Center in Pasay City.

Nissan Philippines launched the New Nissan LEAF at the event and presented the next phase of its electrification strategy with the Nissan Ambition 2030.

The new Nissan LEAF brings a refreshed, modern exterior and interior design with the full suite of Nissan Intelligent Mobility features that provide advanced safety and convenience in every drive. It carries the new Nissan badge with a redesigned bigger grill, blacked-out headlamps and a new 16″ alloy wheel design. On the rear, the New Nissan LEAF also has a redesigned spoiler and under diffuser.

The LEAF continues to be an icon of Nissan Intelligent Mobility with its complete suite of safety and convenience features including the e-Pedal, an innovative technology that uses a one-pedal action for more convenient driving and braking, Intelligent Forward Collision Warning with Intelligent Emergency Braking, Lane Departure Warning with Intelligent Lane Intervention, and the Intelligent Around View Monitor with Moving Object Detection, among others. New to the New Nissan LEAF is the Intelligent Rear View Mirror, giving customers more security and confidence when driving. The Nissan LEAF is exclusively distributed by Gateway Motors group in the Philippines and is available now with a retail price of Php 2,790,000. Customers can avail of the new Nissan LEAF in the following dealerships: Nissan Mantrade, Nissan Global City, Nissan Manila Bay, Nissan Otis, Nissan Bacoor, Nissan Palawan, Nissan Abad Santos, Nissan Cebu North, Nissan Matina, and Nissan Tagum.

One of Nissan Philippines’ latest additions to the lineup was also displayed at their booth during the event. The Nissan Kicks e-POWER is built on Nissan’s innovative DNA and is the brand’s answer for those who want to slowly transition to a full electric vehicle ownership. It is a perfect mix of style and substance meeting the wide range of motorists’ needs who are looking for power, advanced technology, and efficiency.

Launched earlier this year, Nissan Philippines also reinforced its Blue Switch initiative at the Summit through a commitment ceremony with its partners. Under the Blue Switch campaign, the brand aims to create key partnerships with various organizations to help address social concerns such as disaster response, climate change, responsible travel, and energy management with the use of electric vehicle technologies. Among those present during the summit were Department of Energy (DOE) Energy Utilization Management Bureau Director, Patrick Aquino, Electric Vehicle Association of the Philippines (EVAP) President, Edmund Araga, eSakay Incorporated Chief Operating Officer, Karl Magsuci, Gateway Group Executive Vice President, Michael Goho, PESIN President and CEO, Jojo Conde II, Gawad Kalinga Executive Director Luis Oquiñena, PDRF Chief Resilience Officer, Guillermo Luz, and MAD Travel Co-Founder and Director, Rafael Dionisio. These organizations have committed to support the Blue Switch initiative through various efforts ranging from public education, community action, and coalition-building.

“We are taking our vision to shape a safer and more resilient future for the Philippines through the Blue Switch campaign. We hope to address the needs and enrich the lives of Filipinos by leveraging the unique capabilities of electric vehicles for purposes beyond mobility,” says Juan Manuel Hoyos, President of Nissan Philippines.
