The 2024 Tokyo E-Prix will feature a formidable 18-turn, 2.58 km street circuit around Tokyo Big Sight, just minutes from downtown Tokyo. With three long straights, a series of tight technical turns, and high-speed combinations, the track is poised to deliver an unparalleled fan experience against Tokyo’s metropolitan backdrop.

The partnership for this landmark race is a strategic extension of Nissan’s dedication to innovation and sustainability, spotlighting its strides in advanced material use, recycling technologies, and social initiatives. It aligns perfectly with Formula E’s mission to advance electric vehicle adoption and development.

Nissan first entered the all-electric series in Season 5, becoming the first ever Japanese manufacturer to join the championship. Through its official race partnership it will elevate Nissan’s position in EV performance both on and off the track from additional awareness of the brand.

Nissan also supplies its customer team NEOM McLaren Formula E Team with its powertrain, enabling further development and testing of cutting-edge software and engineering.

Tommaso Volpe, managing director and team principal, Nissan Formula E Team, said: “Nissan is excited to partner with Formula E for the historic maiden Tokyo E-Prix. This collaboration is more than a race, it’s a celebration of innovation and sustainability that resonates with our vision for a cleaner, more exciting future. We’re proud to bring this experience to Tokyo and to contribute Nissan’s pioneering spirit to the world of electric motorsport.”

Alberto Longo, co-founder and chief championship officer, Formula E, said: “We are thrilled to introduce Formula E racing to Japan, a nation revered for its technological prowess and engineering excellence. Partnering with Nissan not only enhances this landmark event but also amplifies our shared vision for a sustainable future and an electrifying fan experience. We absolutely cannot wait to bring this to our fans.”

The event will feature a myriad of fan-focused events, including an immersive Formula E Zone, a Gaming Arena with simulators, E-Karting for children, and an Electric Garden with educational showcases on EV technology. Formula E will reveal more details on the 2024 Tokyo E-Prix’s podium event and performances from local and international stars.
