As Spotify innovates, it also evolves when it comes catering to its users better. And to do so, Spotify has recently launched three new offerings for its free, ad-supported users to make their listening experience more tailored to what they want to hear at any given moment.
One of the new offerings is the on-demand playlists. Users can now pick and play any track from fifteen new on-demand playlists, even without skipping and/or shuffling tracks. The on-demand playlists will be based on the users’ musical tastes and could possibly include Spotify-curated playlists ranging from ranging from RapCaviar and K-Pop Daebak to Ultimate Indie and Alternative R&B as well as personalized playlists like Discover Weekly, Release Radar, and Daily Mix.
Also, users can now easily access their favorite songs as well as discover new music that are personalized for them. Curated playlists will be delivered to new users as they now have to provide their music preferences when signing up. These playlists will then be at the new Home screen and will be updated based on the listening activity of the user.
Meanwhile, the new Like and Hide functions let users quickly save songs to their Favorites playlist and hide songs they don’t want to listen to, respectively.
Users are now also given the freedom to create and edit playlists with Spotify. All they have to do is name their playlist, search, and preview specific tracks, and add them to their playlist. These will also spur suggestions from the app, based on the users’ preferences.
A new offer that is worth a special mention is the Data Saver—which the user utilizes to have the app consume less data.
These new offerings will be available on iOS and Android and will be globally available in the coming weeks.
