Full-size model’s numerous intelligent technologies can be checked out via Audi Live View
The new 2021 Audi Q7 TDI has an updated design that increases the full-size luxury SUV’s length to more than five meters, resulting in an even more spacious interior that is longer than any of its direct competitors. And with class-leading headroom and elbow room, the new Audi Q7 sets the standards for full-size luxury SUVs for families by offering comfortable seating for seven people. Numerous storage compartments and a large luggage space further make the model more useful than ever.
Now available in Audi Philippines showrooms, the new Audi Q7 can also be presented to clients from the comfort of their homes through the Audi Live View. This fully digital luxury experience lets clients engage in real time, via a smartphone, with an Audi product expert who is at an Audi Philippines showroom.
The luxurious lounge inside the new Audi Q7 combines immense prestige with practical features that are useful for daily driving. The model’s cockpit architecture seamlessly integrates a new, digital operating system highlighted by two large touchscreens that provide haptic and acoustic feedback for their touch controls. When switched off, the top display slots almost invisibly into the large black decorative surface. All other elements are arrayed logically.
Included among the premium features in the cabin of the new Audi Q7 are the Audi virtual cockpit plus that features a high-resolution color information display; MMI navigation plus with MMI touch response; three-spoke leather-covered multifunction plus steering wheel with paddle shifters; a Bang & Olufsen premium audio system; an ambient LED lighting package; four-zone automatic air-conditioning; and Audi Music Interface in the rear seat.
Behind the rear seat, the luggage compartment offers up to 2,050 liters of space, with a flat load area. All three rows of seats can be slid forwards or backwards individually, and the seatbacks can be reclined. Fitted as standard is an electrically operated tailgate. As a luxury SUV, the new Audi Q7 boasts of power-latching, soft-closing doors.
Further making the new Audi Q7 the perfect luxury SUV for the family are its host of safety equipment, which counts in full-size airbags in front; airbags at the outboard sides of the front and rear passengers; ISOFIX child seat mountings; Parking Aid Plus with 360 display; tire pressure monitoring; advanced traction and stability control systems; and numerous driver-assist technologies.
Distinguishing the new Audi Q7 is a more robust styling that follows Audi’s current design language for SUVs. The model’s large Singleframe grille with six upright slats makes the full-size SUV look even more powerful. The two-part side air inlets and sill area have a much more expressive line, underscoring the vehicle’s ground clearance and off-road capabilities. The light signature of the headlamps’ HD Matrix LED technology emphasizes the width of the model, while the restyled rear’s chrome strip and flat taillights with technical-looking graphics connect with the body’s horizontal line. Complementing the refreshed styling are 20-inch cast aluminum wheels in 5-V spoke turbine design.
Powering the new Audi Q7 is a 3.0-liter TDI V6 turbocharged diesel engine that makes 286 hp and 600 Nm. Matched to this is an eight-speed tiptronic transmission, which sends the engine’s output to the quattro all-wheel drive system. Making the engine more efficient is a mild hybrid system that uses a belt alternator starter to power a 48-volt main electrical system, in which a compact lithium-ion battery stores the energy. The system can recover energy during braking, then uses this to allow the vehicle to coast for up to 40 seconds with the engine switched off. The engine restarts immediately as soon as the accelerator is pressed.
