Netflix’s newest shows and movies for July

Forget sleep. Sleep is for the weak. It’s time to binge watch. As usual, the world’s leading internet television network is still gonna keep us glued to our couches/beds till dawn with some new seasons of old shows and a bunch of whole new series and movies. Having over 100 million members in over 190 countries, of course, it’s expected for Netflix to have a list of new shows soon. This July, Netflix will once again, keep us glued to our screens 24/7.

JULY 4

The Standups: Season 1

A brand new original stand-up comedy, Netflix will be tickling at your funny bone with comedians Nate Bargatze, Deon Cole, Feimster, Nikki Glaser, Dan Soder, and Beth Stelling who will all be delivering sets in the first season of The Standups.

JULY 7

Castlevania: Season 1

Add the classic video game series to your binge watching list too since Netflix will be releasing the first season of the classic video game-Castlevania. An original series, the plot revolves around the last surviving member of a disgraced clan who fights to save eastern Europe from infamous vampire-Dracula.

Degrassi: Next Class: Season 4

Look forward to the fourth season of original series Degrassi: Next Class. The teen drama television series’ fourth season will revolve around Grace finding romance, Yael facing an identity crisis while Frankie gets into an unconventional relationship, and Saad struggles to gain the understanding of his peers.

Luna Petunia: Season 2

Luna Petunia also continues her adventures in Amazia with a second season, exploring wonderful places like the Jelly Jungle all the while making new friends and finding new ways to learn and grow.

Friends From College

Oh, the woes of life after college. But! Life being what it is, some laughs are still unavoidable especially in Netflix’s new original series-Friends from College. Facing their forties, a tight-knit group of Harvard friends reunite 20 years after graduation and experience a range of successes-or lack thereof.

Buddy Thunderstruck: The Maybe Pile

Meanwhile, kids will have lots of fun watching Buddy Thunderstruck: The Maybe Pile with Champion, truck-racing dog Buddy and his best friend and ferret mechanic Darnell as they speed through a big pile of new and crazy ideas they’re read to try out. Which half-baked schemes do you guys think will make the cut?

To the Bone

Original film-To The Bone will also be making its premier. Following the story of an anorexic teen played by Lily Collins, To The Bone has the plot of a sometimes funny and sometimes distressing self-discovery as the young teen enters a group home run by an unconventional doctor.

Chasing Coral

Netflix members will also catch the premier of Chasing Coral. An original documentary, marine biologists and camera designers team up with an ad executive team to capture how climate change is destroying the breathtakingly beautiful coral reefs laying beneath the churning waters of our oceans.

On this day, start off your Netflix binge with bubbles of laughter by immersing yourself into two new original comedies.

Aditi Mittal: Things They Wouldn’t Let Me Say

A special with trailblazing comic Aditi Mittal-one of the first women to perform stand-up comedy in India, she opens up about life as a woman in her country in Netflix’s comedy special: Aditi Mittal: Things They Wouldn’t Let Me Say.

Ari Shaffir: Double Negative: Collection

Meanwhile, Ari Shaffir: Double Negative: Collection will also be premiering with wry yet thoughtful comedian Ari Shaffir. Possessing edgy humor, he’ll bring laughs with two fast-paced stand up specials about children and adults.

Witches, crazy spells, flying brooms, yowling cats and softly bubbling potions…and a series of disasters. That’s what’s in store for those who watch the first season of The Worst Witch. An original series for kids and based on the The worst Witch books by Jill Murphy, the story focuses on Mildred Hubble’s first year at Cackle’s Academy.

Netflix will also release the second season of Last Chance U where Buddy, Brittany and a group of new and returning EMCC players begin a new season as they cope with the publicity season 1 brought to the team.
