Beating with two hearts, the Urus SE is equipped with a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine and an electric motor producing 800 hp and 950 Nm of torque
Latest model combines 800 hp, 950 Nm of torque with over 60 km of electric range
Lamborghini launches in the Philippines the new Urus SE, which through a newly developed plug-in hybrid system becomes the most powerful production super SUV currently available in the market.
Beating with two hearts, the Urus SE is equipped with a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine complemented by a permanent magnet synchronous electric motor housed within the eight-speed automatic transmission. Combined, the system produces 800 hp and 950 Nm of torque.
This power output enables the Urus SE to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds and reach a top speed of 312 km/h.
While achieving these, the Urus SE also offers over 60 kilometers of electric-only driving range.
Incorporated into the super SUV’s hybrid system are four new driving modes specific to electric operation: EV Drive, Hybrid, Performance, and Recharge. These add to the Urus’ existing terrain and dynamic modes.
The driving modes adapt to a wide range of driving conditions, from high-speed performance to all-terrain capability.
The Urus SE features re-engineered chassis components, including a new central electronic limited-slip differential and active torque vectoring on the rear axle. A revised adaptive air suspension system and active roll stabilization enhance handling characteristics and ride comfort.
Improving the model’s aerodynamic efficiency are new under-body air vents and revamped air ducts, which channel more airflow to cool the mechanical and engine components. Airflow to the braking system has also been increased.
Marking the Urus SE’s exterior are the “floating” hood similar to the Lamborghini Revuelto super sports car, matrix LED headlamps with a light signature inspired by the tail of the Lamborghini brand’s bull icon, and redesigned bumper and front grille.
At the rear, the cargo hatch has Lamborghini Gallardo-inspired taillight clusters with “Y” lights and new rear diffuser and spoiler that increase downforce.
In the cabin, the Urus SE features Lamborghini’s signature “feel like a pilot” design theme that is characterized by a thinner dashboard, a larger 12.3-inch center screen with improved Human Machine Interface (HMI), enhanced graphics for the Lamborghini Infotainment System (LIS), Y-shaped air vents with anodized aluminum trim, and plenty of new cabin materials.
The launch of the Urus SE in the country is part of Lamborghini’s move to offer only plug-in hybrid supercars by the end of 2025. This was ushered by last year’s arrival of the Lamborghini Revuelto High Performance Electrified Vehicle (HPEV) that is powered by a 1,015-hp naturally aspirated V12 engine and three electric motors. Set to complete the plug-in hybrid range is the introduction of the new Lamborghini Temerario, equipped with a 920-hp twin-turbocharged V8 with three electric motors that can rev up to 10,000 rpm.
