In H1 2020, MG Philippines experienced growth in its sales performance versus the same period in 2019, with a total of 1,801 vehicles sold (as compared to 1,784 units sold in H1 2019.) Of the total vehicles sold in H1 2020, the lion’s share belongs to the stylish, versatile and attainable MG ZS Crossover SUV – comprising 56% of MG Philippines’ total unit sales in H1 2020. But with growing market requirements expected in the second half of 2020, MG Philippines’ other offerings—including the spacious and feature-loaded MG 5 sedan, versatile RX5 SUV, and sporty MG 6 Fastback Sedan—are sure to address various customer needs.

As the number of MG clients increase, and with more MGs plying local streets, MG Philippines is grateful to be able to deliver on the mobility requirements of the market. MG Philippines is focused on doing its part to rekindle economic activity by easing the transportation requirements of the public.

“We appreciate the strong reception and trust that the Philippine automotive market has shown to the MG brand. Our principals at SAIC Motor International (SMIL) and we at The Covenant Car Company, Inc. focused our efforts on a precise product portfolio and positioned our offers to be most beneficial to the local motoring market. We are glad the objectives were achieved, and are delighted to see more clients and their MG vehicles on the road,” says Atty. Alberto B. Arcilla, President and CEO of MG Philippines.

Entering H2 2020, MG Philippines is focused on strengthening its position in the local automotive market. Its strategy includes increasing the number of dealerships in its roster, with plans to open an additional six (6) new dealerships in various locations nationwide before the end of 2020. These additions will supplement the six (6) dealerships already added in H1 2020, namely: MG Congressional, MG Sucat, MG Bacoor, MG Calasiao, MG Marilao, and MG Bohol. By the end of 2020, a total of thirty (30) MG dealerships will be operational nationwide to serve the greater automotive market.

“It has been a very exciting 20 months of growth for the MG brand in the Philippines and we look forward to more opportunities to serve our clients. Acknowledging the evolving lifestyles of our motoring public as a result of the changes in our mobility dynamics and needs, we at MG will be firm in ensuring the quality of the ownership experience of our clients with focus on the safety and security of our MG community of dealer partners, stewards and guests,” says Atty. Arcilla.

MG Philippines places high priority on adhering to enhanced safety and sanitization protocols in all its existing dealerships, sites and offices for the safety and protection of our clients and personnel.

No less than six (6) new MG dealerships to open before the end of 2020.

Aside from expanding the MG dealership network during the remainder of 2020, MG Philippines will also continue to offer competitive promos on all its vehicle models. To kick off H2 2020, MG Philippines continues with its Forward With All Front Liners sales promo: offering a ZERO-DP offer or generous cash discounts on the fully loaded MG 5 sedan, and a ZERO-DP offer with a three-month payment holiday scheme on the RX5 SUV.

Furthermore, the MG ownership experience is now supplemented by innovative aftersales services relevant to the current COVID-19 landscape. These include MG Online Garage: a service which allows MG owners to engage in a video call with an MG technician for at-home car diagnosis and troubleshooting; and MG Online Chat service: a function on the MG Philippines website, mgmotor.com.ph, which allows users to engage in a live chat session with MG personnel to discuss any MG-related inquiries. These new online complements from MG Philippines are timely additions to its aftersales menu. While health experts advise the general public to practice social distancing and to stay at home, MG Online Garage and MG Online Chat Service allow MG owners to remotely enjoy certain aftersales services they would have once availed of at physical MG dealerships.

“The very positive response of the market strengthens our resolve to continue our efforts to introduce new models, communicate exciting offers, and to establish a dealer network that will provide an excellent ownership experience for our clients.” says Atty. Arcilla.

MG Philippines is committed to contributing to the growth of the local automotive industry, and will continue to adapt and innovate as it looks forward to a strong and fruitful H2 2020.
