A few days after it’s been reported that LG was closing its mobile phone business in the country. LG mobile’s headquarters in South Korea released a statement to Rappler refuting the claims. In the statement, they said, “LG Electronics is working on improving its business structure to enhance the overall business efficiency of LG’s mobile business. However, rumors that LG will be withdrawing its mobile business is not true. This is a part of our long-term strategy to improve business competitiveness and expand presence in the future global market. LG will continue to strive to provide better products and services to its consumers and build consumer trust.”
But it has been a while since the company has released any new mobile phones in the country, the last one was the G7 ThinQ early last year. We’re keeping an eye out for any updates, but so far this is what the company has said.
