This 2021, more and more households employ the services of Lalamove. The company saw a 200% year-on-year growth in deliveries to attest to the trend of same-day delivery. Lalamove continuously emphasizes their commitment to empowering local businesses and provide a means of earning for their partner drivers. To further serve their users better, Lalamove has officially signed a partnership with the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) of the Philippine National Police (PNP) to prevent illegal movement of contraband in the country through online delivery services. Both parties have signed a memorandum of understanding last Feb. 23, 2020, to solidify the initiative.
This agreement between parties will serve as another step forward for courier services such as Lalamove in assisting the government to eliminate illegal chemicals and other forms of criminality in modern-day technology.
Regional Director of NCRPO, Police Major General Vicente D. Danao Jr. expressed his sincere gratitude to Lalamove for cooperating. The MOU will also aim to ensure that all accredited partner drivers of the delivery platform are not involved in any illegal activity.
The Head of Regulatory and Strategy of Lalamove, Atty. Joy Cañeba, shared her appreciation to the NCRPO for support in keeping deliveries safe and secure. Lalamove has been very collaborative with the government, previously signing an agreement with PDEA to eliminate dangerous drug transportation in their services. The NCRPO ensured Lalamove that their team is willing to train their riders in the detection of illegal drugs and Improvised Explosive Devices (IED).
The partnership they built with the NCRPO is the first among the present delivery apps in Metro Manila. While loyal users utilize their platform, they can rest easy knowing that such partnerships exist in order to make their deliveries safe.
