Homegrown motorcycle taxi platform MOVE IT has once again proven its commitment to road safety and top-tier driver quality by inviting veteran journalist and motorcycle enthusiast Kuya Kim Atienza to personally undergo its rigorous rider assessment and onboarding program.
Known for his passion for motorcycles and public service, Kuya Kim stepped into the shoes of an aspiring Ka-MOVE IT rider to show just how demanding the platform’s onboarding process is. Far from being symbolic, he experienced each step of MOVE IT’s six-stage program, from compliance checks to on-the-road drills, proving firsthand that MOVE IT doesn’t hand out Ka-MOVE IT jackets lightly.
In a vlog posted on his Facebook page, Kuya Kim detailed his journey: from undergoing background and health screenings, to subjecting his motorcycle to strict roadworthiness inspections, to taking part in real-world riding tests and passenger safety drills. He also attended classroom sessions that covered road safety protocols, passenger care, and app navigation — the same sessions every MOVE IT rider must complete annually to stay accredited. Only after successfully passing all stages was his rider account activated, followed by the official release of MOVE IT’s high-grade safety gear.
Alongside the vlog, Kuya Kim also unveiled I-Sumbong Mo sa MOVE IT, a new, easy-to-use feedback channel available via Facebook Messenger. This initiative empowers passengers to directly report safety-related concerns and driver experiences, complementing existing features like in-app ratings and the “Report an Issue” tool.
By opening its doors to scrutiny and innovation, MOVE IT underscores its mission of raising industry standards and ensuring every ride is not only reliable but also safe.
