Children will always be fond of stories. Whether it’s about their day in online school, a memory they cherish, or one that’s been lifted from a book, storytelling has a lot of intellectual and emotional benefits for kids.

For one, it allows them to absorb language and be adept to articulate their thoughts and feelings. It also strengthens their ability to recognize emotions, especially when engaged with images and facial expressions. By allowing them to listen to stories, children can gather better insight not just about themselves, but also the community they belong to.

Raising a nation of learners. Thought-provoking stories are read to children in Enfagrow A+ Four’s ‘Tales of Kindness from the #HealthySmartKidWithAHeart’.

Enfagrow A+ Four has been a parent’s partner in raising healthy, smart kids with a heart. As a brand that believes in cultivating both kindness and intelligence in children, Enfagrow A+ Four prompted a project in which kids can be led to have an expressive learning experience, and nurture their language and emotional development through storytelling.

Enfagrow A+ Four’s “Tales of Kindness from the #HealthySmartKidWithAHeart” is a live online storytelling session open to parents, teachers, and children. Featuring stories from campaign partner Adarna House Publishing, it was streamed on Enfagrow A+ Four’s Facebook Page, providing parents and children fun alternative learning sessions in this new normal.

The session was hosted by edutainment content creator Coach Lyqa Maravilla and Kuya Rey Bufi, storyteller and founder of the non-government organization The Storytelling Project. Among the storybooks featured in the episodes is ‘Hating Kapatid’ by Raissa Rivera Falgui, as illustrated by Fran Alvarez. It tells the story of two sibling ants, and their journey in discovering sharing and evenhandedness, teaching young readers the importance of fairness among brothers and sisters.

The story “Ang Madyik Silya ni Titoy” by Russell Molina, illustrated by Marcus Nada, narrates a heartwarming story about how a kid’s boundless imagination can help them overcome any type of limitations. With stories like these, children can learn that the small acts of kindness that they do leave a big positive impact to the people around them.

No dream is too big. Rey Bufi shares the power of imagination as he reads ‘Ang Madyik Silya ni Titoy’ by Russell Molina, illustrated by Marcus Nada.

“We want to start this culture of learning about the world with one’s head, and then making a difference in it with their heart. Putting attention to individual achievement is not wrong. In fact, when we raise our kids to couple that with being compassionate and kind, we gear them with the right mindset towards a successful and fulfilling life,” said Diane Lapid, Senior Brand Manager of Enfagrow A+ Four Philippines.
