First came Peter Schreyer, who started out as Chief Design Officer and eventually went on to sit at the helm of Kia Motors. Then came the vehicles, which looked more upscale with the signature tiger nose grille and that European vibe, as time went by. These are just some of the things Kia has done with its Power to Surprise.
The same story holds true in the local market. Ever since the brand re-launch in 2019 under the Ayala-owned AC Motors group, Kia Philippines has had a number of surprising milestones tucked under its belt. The Kia brand achieved a 124 percent sales growth during its first year of operations where it also unveiled new models such as the Soluto, the Seltos, and the Stinger. All of these set the tone for the brand’s expansion this 2020.
The Korean carmaker’s Philippine arm is set to open a number of dealerships within 2020. More specifically, they will be opening several new dealerships by the 3rd quarter of the year. The move is meant to increase its reach and make the Kia brand even more accessible to more Filipinos.
“I am very excited to announce that Kia Philippines hopes to continue the gains it has made in 2019 by expanding our reach and allowing us to give Filipinos more surprises,” says Manny Aligada, President of Kia Philippines. “We, together with our business partners, are confident that this move will help strengthen the brand’s presence and show the Filipino people that we are here for them, despite the challenges we are facing today,” Aligada adds.
New dealerships to rise in strategic locations
The new Kia dealerships that are set to be opened in key locations across Metro Manila and Luzon are full sales and service facilities that are designed to fulfill the brand’s Promise to Care.
Kia Marikina: Situated in the Shoe Capital of the Philippines, Kia Marikina is the first Kia dealership of Advan Motor, Inc. It is set to be the brand’s gateway to the East of the Metro, as well as Rizal Province.
Kia Fairview: The 2nd dealership of the ANC+ Group of Companies, Kia Fairview is touted to be the Korean carmaker’s Gateway to Northern Metro Manila. Moreover, it is strategically located to attract residents of nearby areas who require quality transportation for varying needs and lifestyles.
Kia Isabela: The Santiago City-based Kia facility is set to be the first of its kind for the brand in Region 2 and the 5th Kia dealership of the Laus Group of Companies. To be operated by the Group’s Trader’s Autocenter, it is meant to serve the province and cater to their needs with vehicles like the K2500 utility and cargo vans, among others.
Kia Bonifacio Global City: Owned and operated by AC Motors’ Iconic Dealership, Inc., Kia BGC will serve the upscale district with the full lineup of vehicles to suit every lifestyle.
More surprises to come
While such a move may be considered a major one, especially during this time, it is only a part of the expansion plan. Expect these four new dealerships in strategic locations to open within the year. In addition, more dealerships are appointed already and are set to be included to the growing network as soon as plans and designs are final. For 2021, more areas will enjoy Kia’s Power to Surprise as the expansion continues.
All these new dealerships, along with the existing network, will have sales and after-sales services designed for its customers. New vehicle owners get a 5 years or 160,000-km warranty (whichever comes first), 24/7 Emergency Roadside Assistance, and competent service by well-trained technicians who likewise care for your Kia vehicle.
