Initially meant to introduce Asian culture to the American crowd, the bestselling Crazy Rich trilogy, authored by Kevin Kwan, took on a life of its own outside of Western markets. As is apparent in all Fully Booked branches, the Crazy Rich Asian fever has reached an all-time high even within Asian countries, which it parodies. The Crazy Rich Asian series follows the riveting family drama of the Young-Shang-T’sien clan from Singapore, Shanghai, London, Palawan, and the rest of the world.
To stem the tide of clamoring fans, Fully Booked is bringing the acclaimed author on a Manila tour that spans five different locations around the city. Throughout his entire stay, Kwan will be talking about his latest book Rich People Problems, meeting his readers, and signing books.
Previously, Kwan has already visited the Philippines to tour the second book in the series, China Rich Girlfriend, where signings were held in Bonifacio High Street and Alabang Town Center. After the tour, Kwan traveled to Palawan for a much-needed vacation. His stay inspired him so much that he included Palawan as a setting in the series’ final entry, Rich People Problems.
Rich People Problems was released on May 23, 2017. Following closely, the movie adaptation of Crazy Rich Asians is set to be premiered worldwide soon.
