The award-winning Kwentong Jollibee series is back again this Valentine Season to send forth the message of finding strength in love. Now on its fifth year, the fast-food chain’s popular Kwentong Jollibee gives a triple treat of romantic videos inspired by love stories in the time of the pandemic.
“Challenges and rough times are felt more now than ever before, leaving people a little doubtful of love. That is why this year, what we would like to highlight is that there is strength to be found in love that is determined to overcome all hardships, and make it work,” shared JFC Philippines Country/Regional Marketing Head and Jollibee Philippines Marketing Head Francis Flores.
“As a brand that takes pride in chronicling the stories of Filipinos, we continue this significant tradition of celebrating Valentine’s Day by featuring real-life experiences of our loyal customers. This time, set against the backdrop of the pandemic, a situation we’re all in,” he added.
For Filipinos around the world, the Kwentong Jollibee episodes are highly anticipated every red-letter day occasion, including Valentine’s. Since its launch in 2017, Jollibee has already produced over 36 Kwentong Jollibee short films, and gained almost 600 million views over 970 million impressions.
#FindStrengthInLove
Jollibee has set the romantic mood this Valentine’s through an exclusive virtual press event. This year’s line-up of heartwarming videos focuses on “Finding Strength in Love”, aiming to show people that love is a source of strength, even more in this challenging period.
First to be released is the Kwentong Jollibee film “LDR” on February 4. Directed by 2020 MMMF Best Director Antoinette Jadaone, “LDR” follows the story of sweet couple Brian and Mina. When the announcement of the lockdown was made, they found themselves stuck in a long-distance relationship just like many couples. Guided by their love for each other, Brian and Mina take on courageous efforts to make their relationship work despite the distance. Will they be able to withstand the test of separation?
The second episode “First Date” will come out on February 8. It narrates the tale of Mara who was forced to live on her own during the lockdown. She spent her time focusing on herself, learning new skills, and eventually, connecting with a new and special friend. Directed by internationally acclaimed director Pepe Diokno, this episode can empower the hearts of individuals who used their time to reflect and act on what’s best for themselves.
Lastly, the third episode entitled “Hero” will premiere on February 12. It is directed by Vow and Crush director Ianco dela Cruz. “Hero” showcases how one’s love can help a person get through life’s most difficult moments, and even make them stronger than they ever thought they could be.
