Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC) turned-over Php 250,000 cash donation to National Kidney and Transplant Institute (NKTI) in time for its World Kidney Day 2023 celebration on March 9 at the NKTI Atrium in Quezon City.

IPC started its donation series to medical institutions after the announcement of its Road to Progress vision during its 25th inaugural anniversary in 2022. IPC’s Road to Progress vision aims to align its business goals and commitment through a new perspective focusing on environment, social and governance aspect. In line with its social aspect, IPC provides support in sustaining good health and well-being of Filipinos as a way of giving back to the community. In 2023, IPC kicked off its donation series with NKTI.

NKTI conducted a 4-day celebration starting March 6 for the global campaign for the World Kidney Day 2023 with the theme “Kidney Health For All”. NKTI had a series of activities such as exhibit, forums and free examinations to help raise awareness about the importance of kidney to overall health and to reduce frequent numbers of kidney related diseases worldwide.

On the last day of NKTI’s World Kidney Day celebration, IPC representatives led by Assistant Vice President for Administration Imelda Bernas and Assistant Division Head for Sales Robert Carlos attended the program to officially hand over the cash donation. In her speech, Bernas commended the efforts of NKTI to support the global campaign and proceeded to say, “As Filipinos’ “responsible partner”, Isuzu Philippines is honored to provide support to this global movement.”

According to NKTI Medical Social Service Division Chief Leonides Basada, the cash donation will be used for the medical needs of NKTI’s indigent patients so they can continue with their peritoneal dialysis and hemodialysis. “We are very thankful for Isuzu Philippines Corporation’s benevolent act. The Php 250,000 cash donation will mean a lot to our dialysis and transplant patients. It will be a big assistance in their everyday medical expense,” said Chief Basada.
