You might have noticed overnight that there’s a new icon with a rainbow-like gradient on your home screen or app drawer. Wait, where has my Instagram app gone? Well, ladies and gents, that’s the new Instagram icon. The company’s other apps—Layout, Boomerang, and Hyperlapse—get the colorful gradient, too.
But as colorful as the new icons look, Instagram is taking a cleaner approach with its interface. Gone are the blues and now you just get a white background with black icons and hints of reds for notifications. It’s clean and crisp and as Instagram puts it, it “puts more focus on your photos and videos without changing how you navigate the app.”
The update should be coming your way already. Do you like it or not?
