As global ride-hailing app inDrive enjoys robust growth in the Philippines with about 96% increase in driver acquisition, the platform gives back to its drivers, passengers, and communities through the “Ka-gulong, Kita Tayo!” campaign
Global ride-hailing app inDrive has been rapidly growing since its local relaunch in June 2024, enjoying a 75% ride increase. Not only that, active users and drivers have gone up by 86% and 96%, respectively. Amid this steady expansion in the Philippines, inDrive remains loyal to its pledge to promote the welfare of its partner drivers, passengers, and the broader community through the “Ka-gulong, Kita Tayo!” campaign, a joint effort with transport group Laban TNVS.
inDrive Marketing Director for APAC Natalia Makarenko said, “We have always believed in the power of mobility to transform lives. Our strategic goal for 2030 is ambitious but clear: to positively impact the lives of over 1 billion people worldwide. We aim to achieve this by continuously driving change through innovative mobility solutions and community-driven initiatives that resonate with the needs of the people we serve.”
inDrive’s commitment to equitable business
The heart of “Ka-gulong, Kita Tayo!” is inDrive’s purpose of ensuring that TNVS drivers earn a fair profit and increase their purchasing power. Additionally, the campaign seeks to provide TNVS drivers with a platform to air their concerns.
The campaign also highlights inDrive and Laban TNVS’ commitment to providing passengers with a safe riding experience and fair fares. The app fulfills this through its 10% commission model, which creates competitive rates that benefit the drivers and the riding public.
Makarenko noted, “By keeping our commission low, we can offer competitive rates that benefit everyone involved while continuously innovating to serve all parties. This is what we mean by equitable business — creating a system that works for all, not just a few.”
Driving change at the grassroots
Beyond empowering drivers and serving passengers, inDrive’s “Ka-gulong, Kita Tayo!” campaign also seeks to launch various community-based programs. This way, inDrive together with Laban TNVS can support drivers’ families and uplift Filipino communities.
Laban TNVS President Jun De Leon shared “We are glad to continue working closely with inDrive to create initiatives that reach out to drivers, and this campaign enables us to do just that. Laban TNVS has always been committed to assisting our brothers and sisters in the TNVS community, and we are pleased that inDrive shares the same goal. Rest assured, we will remain vigilant in fighting for justice, fairness, and equality in the industry, while promoting the safety of our roads, drivers, and passengers.”
This is evident in how inDrive and Laban TNVS worked together to organize a flood assistance program for its drivers and a feeding program for Sitio San Roque in Quezon City during Super Typhoon Carina’s aftermath. Dozens of volunteers flocked to help out in the latter, highlighting inDrive’s ability to bolster people into social action.
A vow to constantly improve lives, one ride at a time
Makarenko outlined inDrive’s plans for further expansion in the Philippines, citing that the company is working to improve and widen its services. inDrive will also expand to other key areas like Cebu, Davao, and Pampanga, as well as diversify its partnership network to provide more driver and passenger benefits.
inDrive strategically finds ways to improve the lives of the communities where it operates by understanding the unique challenges and opportunities within each community and leveraging global expertise to deliver solutions that are both meaningful and sustainable.
