HTC updated its compact mid-range handset just in time for IFA in the form of the HTC One A9S . Having the same style as the iPhone, HTC seems to appeal to iPhone users who want to dive in into the Android space without sacrificing the design of an Apple product.
Looks-wise, the phone looks similar to its previous version. Spec-wise, the One A9S downgraded from a Full HD display down to a 720p display. The One A9S also shifted from using Qualcomm’s Snapdragon to MediaTek’s Helio P10 Octa-core. It seems that HTC wanted to make this phone cheaper to produce, and reach a broader market.
The HTC One A9S sports a 13-megapixel main camera with autofocus and a BSI sensor for low light photography. The 5-megapixel front camera that features Voice Selfie for hands-free usage or Auto Selfie which detects your smile.
The One A9S is offered in 2 variants, the 2GB RAM/16GB internal storage and the 3GB RAM/32GB internal storage depending on the region it’s launched. It also supports microSD up to 2TB.
Having announced the latest HTC 10 phones recently, this is the only phone they announced at IFA. However, HTC hinted at a big launch on September 20.
