“It’s good to be back, gracing this stage again. Sharing best practices and talking about a unified goal – which is green mobility. For us at Hyundai Motor, more than the vehicle, it’s the lifestyle. So, our IONIQ line, was really designed to allow its owners to not just drive electric, but live electric. Which is why for those who are ready to plug in and accelerate their EV journey, the brand is making it easier to transition,” said Mr. Dongwook Lee, President of HMPH during the plenary session on October 19.

Hyundai is geared to change the world and enable people to adopt the “IONIQ Life”. Its two all-electric models available in the local market come with a free home installation of a 7.4-kw AC charger. Moreover, a 5-year or 200,000-km vehicle warranty, an 8-year or 160,000-km battery warranty and free Preventive Maintenance Service (PMS) for 5 years or 75,000-km, whichever comes first.

To boost these even further, the brand is now offering a Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) service within Metro Manila. A dedicated IONIQ 5 unit has been set up to rove around and have the capacity to power up another EV. Similar to how its Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) function operates with small to mid-sized appliances and gadgets but on a larger scale. Prepared for the event where the owner forgot that its vehicle battery is running low, making it difficult to reach the nearest charging station. This, alongside a free 24/7 Roadside Assistance, for the first year upon purchase, are new benefits being offered.

In light of this, HMPH also recognizes that one of the main concerns Filipinos have when it comes to owning EVs is accessibility to charging facilities. As of date, the brand currently has 5 authorized EV dealerships that are fully operational. They are Alabang, Commonwealth, Makati, Pampanga and Pasig. And with network expansion remaining as a top priority, 4 more shall be added to this year’s roster. These locations not only allow access to the products themselves, but the aftersales personnel and services, including the on-site chargers that are free for use by IONIQ owners.

Not only that, HMPH’s partnership with SM Supermalls and their Car Park Division is only getting started and more can be expected in 2024. Its 6 EV charging slots, namely in SM Mall of Asia, SM Fairview, Podium, SM City Clark, SM Seaside Cebu and SM Lanang Premier, are all already up and running. Not to mention, free of charge to all mallgoers, regardless of the make or model of their EVs.

As for the future, the brand teased a video clip of the IONIQ 5 N, which debuted at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, during the opening day. It was revealed to be just one of the many manifestations of how Hyundai and its sub-brands are pushing the envelope to what EVs can do to excite and uplift lives.

“These are just some of the initiatives and enhancements we are making in order to be more present on every step of the ownership journey of our IONIQ customers. Our goal is to instill confidence and peace of mind among our Filipino customers, so that they can focus on the true enjoyment of owning a Hyundai EV,” according to Mr. Lee.

Until October 21, Saturday, the IONIQ 5 is available for test drive around the Mall of Asia Complex where the exhibition center is located. Those interested can drop by at Hyundai Motor’s booth to sign up as well as redeem a free café beverage. A limited edition IONIQ 5 diecast car can also be had for those who will reserve on-site for any Hyundai model.
