Hyundai strengthens its presence as a leading Modern PUV provider in the Visayas. On July 29, Hyundai Asia Resources, Inc. (HARI), the official distributor of Hyundai commercial vehicles (CV), through pioneer dealership Hyundai Trucks and Buses Cebu, turned over 15 units of the HD50S Class 2 to G.C. Godie, Inc. transport cooperative in Tacloban City. The official ceremony was graced by key officials from the national and local governments.

The landmark ceremony serves as another achievement in Tacloban’s bid to accelerate its progress and a testament to Hyundai’s growing partnerships with major transport cooperatives across the country.

This pivotal event is another milestone for Hyundai Trucks and Buses Philippines, following the successful launch of the GDSI-inspired Hyundai Trucks and Buses Cebu last July 15.

“We are honored to serve communities in the Visayas, such as Tacloban City, pursuant of the government’s vision of a better, more sustainable transport system,” said Hyundai Trucks and Buses Cebu President Edward Vincent G. Onglatco. He also underscored the provision of excellent maintenance service for the Modern PUVs such that Hyundai would remain the Taclobanons’ “Partner in Every Way” in the New Normal.

Since 2020, HARI has been energizing the transport sector with a series of turnovers of Hyundai Modern PUVs to major transport groups all over the country. There are now over a hundred efficient, environment-friendly units of HD50S plying major routes and cities nationwide.

Said HARI President and CEO Ma. Fe Perez-Agudo, “Aligned with Hyundai Motor’s mission to drive progress for humanity, HARI CV and our strong dealer network stands with Government, the private sector, and communities to keep on carving a path toward full transport modernization, which is key to our recovery as a nation.”
