These included the latest iterations of familiar nameplates, such as the Palisade and Tucson, as well as new additions, namely the Creta and Staria. It also ventured into the highly competitive Multi-Purpose Vehicle (MPV) segment, with the Stargazer, and the rapidly growing Electric Vehicle (EV) segment, with the IONIQ 5.
“Hyundai, being the third leading brand in the world, has widespread R&D facilities and talent that permit us to ‘Innovate Everyday’. The 6-seater premium option* that is on display will be coming out in authorized dealerships nationwide before the year ends but is already open for pre-order during the aforementioned event.

Apart from its signature Day Time Running Light (DRL) up front and H-Shaped lights at the rear, its range of safety and driver-assist functions stood out versus competitors. Notable ones are the Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TPMS), Safe Exit Warning (SEW), that alerts when alighting the vehicle and there is a hazard from behind, and Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA), that detects the risk of crashing into pedestrians or other cars by automatically applying the brakes.

When it comes to flexibility, the Stargazer has over 30 ergonomically designed storage compartments and seats that are ISOFIX-compatible, to ensure everyone in the family can board, and easy-folding, for extra cargo load.
Vision for electrification and IONIQ 6
Hyundai Motor has set five (5) main areas of interest to achieve its Carbon Neutrality 2045 Agenda with electrification as the top priority. The brand has pledged to play a pivotal role not just in pioneering technologies but also leading society’s transition to clean mobility. Hence, the IONIQ, its first dedicated line of purely electric vehicles and a manifestation of its global vision of Progress for Humanity.
“The IONIQ sub-brand was developed to bring about and encourage a sustainable lifestyle through an elevated eco-friendly experience. It was designed to support, if not jumpstart, our customers journey to go green. Our flagship model, the IONIQ 5, became a validation that we are on the right track. It has garnered numerous recognitions, paving the way for our newest mid-size electric sedan. The IONIQ 6 also has just become a triple-crown winner during the recently concluded 2023 World Car of The Year Awards which made us even more excited to give visitors a chance to see it physically at the Manila International Auto Show,” said Mr. Dongwook Lee, President of HMPH.

Recognized by an international panel for its unique streamlined silhouette combined with outstanding EV performance.
Both models share the same design DNA but have their own unique typology. “Sporty and sleek” for the IONIQ 6 against “bold and space” of the IONIQ 5. The exterior shows off the brand’s signature 3D parametric pixel lights complimented by glass-like, transparent textures. Stepping inside, the cabin has been shaped like a cocoon for a cozier feeling. Despite this, manages to still be class-leading in terms of passenger comfort and cargo space because of its long wheelbase. At the driver seat, mindful, interactive features have been incorporated through the integrated digital cluster and infotainment screen and action-sensitive ambient lights.
Built on the brand’s trademark Electric-Global Modular Platform or E-GMP, the IONIQ 6 has better stability and handling and added safety. Equipped as well with the brand’s proprietary driver-assistance system including Navigation-based Smart Cruise Control (NSCC), Highway Driving Assist 2 (HDA 2), Remote Smart Parking Assist 2 (RSPA 2), among others. Optimized to minimize air resistance and drag for an EV performance like no other.
The IONIQ 6 is set to be officially launched towards the middle of the year for around PHP 4,000,000. Currently the IONIQ 5 is already on retail for PHP 3,068,000, 2WD Standard Range, and PHP 3,698,000, 2WD Long Range. The installation of a 7.4KWh AC wall charger also comes standard with every purchase.
In an effort to solidify the confidence and peace of mind among owners, HMPH will soon launch a Vehicle-to-Vehicle or V2V Service wherein the IONIQ 5 will be utilized for mobile charging. Similar to a roadside emergency assistance, there will be a hotline that Filipino customers can call for assistance. It will first be rolled in the National Capital Region (NCR) with the charging process taking 4 minutes which produces 7KWh or about 20 to 30 kilometers of extra range.
“We take pride in our evolution from a car manufacturer to a mobility service provider. So please expect us to come up with more innovative solutions and initiatives such as these that make lives easier and more meaningful for our Filipino customers and the community at large,” Mr. Lee added.
