As if the drama in the ongoing United States primaries wasn’t enough, Frank Underwood heats up the presidential race with the premiere of House of Cards Season 4 today at 4 p.m. on RTL CBS Asia Entertainment Network.

The Netflix original political drama is a hit to viewers because of its strong resemblance to the events of American politics sans scheming and connivance. House of Cards chooses to begin the latest season with its own primaries for party nominations at the same time as the US presidential election is taking place.

Award-winning actor Kevin Spacey continues his portrayal of ambitious and cunning Frank Underwood who is the current president of the United States of America in the hit series. He announced his reelection bid in September last year complete with a Twitter hashtag: #FU2016.

Frank remains a seasoned troubleshooter who knows how to deal with hindrances–people or situations–no matter the cost. Back in the saddles and at his element is the president’s trusty handyman Doug (Michael Kelly) doing what he does best: look after his boss.

Season 3 ended with Claire Underwood (Robin Wright) declaring that she’s leaving her husband. The consistently stoic Claire will show some vulnerability, but not enough to strip her devious character away.

The past and the future would haunt Frank’s and Claire’s political ambitions. A House of Cards divided was the most unlikely scenario judging Claire’s dutiful submission to all of Frank’s desires in previous seasons. Open disobedience from his partner in crime would be something new for the president.

As old characters go, new ones arrive. The new characters will be instrumental in establishing the first couple’s hold on America’s political power.

Who would cower to the president’s demands and who would defy and look him in the eye? Will the president settle for a compromise to make sure that he keeps the seat at the White House?

RTL CBS Asia Entertainment Network has been bringing House of Cards on cable since 2014. For Season 4, RTL CBS will air all the 13 episodes in one sitting, which means fans need to block off the entire weekend for a marathon.

“We want to guarantee House of Cards fans a great viewing experience by airing all 13 episodes in high-definition and localized subtitles on the same day as the US,” said Jonas Engwall, CEO of RTL CBS Asia Entertainment Network.

House of Cards Season 4 marathon will have an encore tomorrow (March 6) starting at 8 a.m.

In the Philippines, RTL CBS Entertainment HD is available on SkyCable, Destiny, Dream Satellite and Cablelink.
