What’s new

HOOQ’s second birthday gift to its loyal subscribers is called transactional video-on-demand. Unlike other subscription services, HOOQ will be bringing the latest movies directly from the cinema. Subscribers will be able to enjoy new hits from Sony Pictures, Warner Bros., Disney, Dreamworks, and Pixar, like Rogue One, Sausage Party, and Arrival. These movies are available for rent at a low rate of just P125 per movie. Additionally, each subscriber will get one (1) golden ticket per month which they can use to rent one movie from the TVOD playlist for free.

The Philippines will now enjoy freshly inked deals with Regal Entertainment and Viva Communications which provides HOOQ with digital rights to their new movies within three months of theatrical release. With Filipino hits like Camp Sawi and I Love You to Death consistently hitting HOOQ’s most watched list, HOOQ’s latest expansion brings more content for Filipinos to enjoy. In the next quarter, HOOQ will bring Mano Po 7, Die Beautiful, The Escort, and My Rebound Girl to its library. Present TV shows like Destined to be Yours will be available on HOOQ within 24 hours of their airing.

Meanwhile, HOOQ’s TV partnerships across the globe have also been bolstered. Subscribers can now watch new series like Secret Diary of a Call Girl, Mistresses, and Wolf Hall. Of course, DC shows have always been a staple of HOOQ’s library. Legend of Tomorrow, Arrow, and Gotham continue their dominating presence on HOOQ. Further, Supergirl, Lucifer, and Powerless are available to stream within 24 hours of their US airing.

Finally, HOOQ has given a much-needed update to its first original series, On the Job. After much deliberation with director Erik Matti, HOOQ has confirmed that the mini-series will be expanded into a sequel movie to the original classic and a full-blown series launching a month later. Expect HOOQ’s first original to drop between July to August.
