During the Japan Mobility Show 2025, Honda Motor Co., Ltd. premiered the prototype of a new compact EV called the Super-ONE. Its grand concept is defined as “e: Dash BOOSTER,” and is designed to provide customers with an everyday driving experience that is both enjoyable and exciting.
The name “Super-ONE” represents the aspiration of Honda to create a vehicle that transcends conventional norms and standards (“super”) and delivers customer value unique only to Honda (“one and only”). The “joy of driving” is truly embodied as the Super-ONE comes with features that are designed to stimulate drivers’ senses.

The Super-ONE has already undergone extensive testing in Japan, the UK, and other countries across Asia. In July 2025, the Super EV Concept, the concept model that became the basis for the Super-ONE Prototype, was exhibited and took part in a dynamic run on the iconic hill climb course at the Goodwood Festival of Speed 2025, showcasing its powerful driving performance.
The production model based on the Super-ONE prototype is slated to launch in Japan some time in 2026. Other regions that have a strong demand for compact EVs will follow. There has been no confirmation if the vehicle will make its way to our shores. But if it does, it would be sure to make waves in the local EV space.
Exterior

The exterior was designed to evoke an uplifting sensation. Prominent blister fenders encasing the wide tires emphasize a low and wide stance, expressing a sense of dynamic driving. Moreover, the aerodynamic design developed exclusively for this model — inducing front and rear air ducts — enhances aerodynamic performance while also ensuring efficient cooling.
The exterior was perfected by combining practical features that support driving performance, with functional aesthetics that subtly hint at the driving experience this vehicle can offer. Upon first glance at the Japan Mobility Show, the word practical came to mind. However, the more you get to know the vehicle, the more you get a sense of the “joy of driving” that Honda is aiming to achieve.
Interior

The interior is designed to enable the driver to be fully immersed in driving. The sports seats are a great choice. There is blue surface material laid out asymmetrically. It adds a splash of color that matches the rest of the interior as well. In addition, the horizontal orientation of the instrument panel reduces visual noise to enable the driver to focus more on driving.
Overall, the interior matches that of the exterior. It exudes, simplicity and practicality, but is also able to provide that uplifting feeling and provide that much sought after “joy in driving.”
Boost Mode
The Super-ONE Prototype is equipped with Boost Mode, developed exclusively for this model. Boost Mode increases the power output to enable the power unit to fully unleash its performance potential to realize powerful and sharp acceleration.
Moreover, the simulated 7-speed transmission that reproduces the gearshift feel of a traditional multi-gear transmission is synchronized with the Active Sound Control system that produces a powerful “virtual” engine sound inside the cabin in accordance with driver input. Through this, the vehicle is able to provide the driver with feedback simulating driving an engine-powered sporty vehicle, all while enjoying the advantages of an EV.
Furthermore, the dedicated setting for features such as the triple-gauge cluster and illumination color is available for Boost Mode. The Super-ONE prototype stimulates the driver’s senses — including visual and auditory senses, as well as a tactile sensation of acceleration and vibration — and offers a new “joy of driving” EVs.
Catch the Super-ONE prototype at the Honda booth in the year’s Japan Mobility Show, which will run until November 9.
