Honda debuts refreshed BR-V

Last week at the City of Dreams Manila, Honda unveiled the New BR-V. Revolving around the concept of ‘enhancing [the] SUV image’, the new Honda BR-V showcases a masculine and premium look with its sleek design and intuitive features. With a chrome front grille paired with front bumper for both variants, the look is reminiscent of its predecessor but updated with LED daytime running lights for the 1.5 V CVT variant; while keeping the old model’s halogen headlights and fog lights for both variants. The new BR-V also boasts 16” alloy wheels, which contributes to its wide, commanding stance. The 1.5 V CVT is equipped with power- folding door mirrors integrated with side turn signals. Both variants have a roof rail while the 1.5 V CVT also gets a new shark fin antenna to complete its look.

Inside, the 1.5 S CVT variant is equipped with a 7-inch capacitive touchscreen audio panel while the 1.5 V CVT has added Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Both variants of the New BR-V are also equipped with a reverse camera for easy parking. Its cabin is spacious and comfortable with a good amount of legroom and head clearance. The leather seats and red leather accents at the door panel armrest and on the steering wheel and shift knobs complete the premium look.

The New Honda BR-V is powered by the 1.5 Liter i-VTEC Engine that provides 88kW (120Ps) at 6,600rpm and 145 Nm of torque (14.8kg-m) at 4,600rpm and is mated to Honda’s earth dreams technology continuously variable transmission (CVT) to ensure smooth and fuel-efficient driving. The 1.5 V CVT model also comes with a smart entry system with push start.

The new BR-V is outfitted with safety features such as Honda’s G-force Control (G-CON) Collision Safety Body that dissipates G-forces in the event of a crash and disperses it away from the vehicle’s occupants on impact. In addition to this, standard on both variants are driver and front passenger SRS Airbags; anti-lock braking system (ABS) with electronic brake force distribution; hill start assist; vehicle stability assist (VSA); and speed sensing auto door locks. For families with young children, the New BR-V also comes with ISO-FIX Anchors to securely latch a child seat. The BR-V has been awarded 5-Stars in the ASEAN NCAP rating in the Adult Occupancy Protection (AOP) category.

The New BR-V is now available at all 38 Honda dealerships nationwide and will come in six colors:
