GWM Philippines recently concluded “The GWM Haval H9 Experience,” an exclusive media trip that brought members of the Philippine motoring media to Baoding, China for a first-hand look at the global engineering, advanced technology, and off-road capability behind GWM’s upcoming flagship 7-seater SUV, the GWM Haval H9.
At the heart of the trip was the first-hand driving experience of the GWM Haval H9, where delegates tested the SUV on-track before heading to GWM’s Off-Road Base. Set against rugged natural terrain, participants put the GWM Haval H9 alongside the GWM Cannon and GWM Tank 300 through demanding off-road courses, showcasing their intelligent 4X4 systems and durable and capable powertrains, simulating a confidence-inspiring driving experience in real-world conditions.
Designed to give media participants deeper insight into the brand beyond the product, the experience began with an in-depth visit to GWM’s Technology Center, where delegates engaged directly with GWM’s international leadership, including Mr. James Yang, Vice President of GWM International. During an interactive discussion, executives outlined GWM’s global strategy, long-term vision, and product direction emphasizing the brand’s commitment to delivering world-class 4WD capability, advanced safety, and intelligent technology at accessible value.
Central to this vision is GWM’s “In the local, for the local” philosophy, which underscores the brand’s approach of building long-term, sustainable operations in the markets it serves. Rather than focusing solely on vehicle sales, GWM brings its full automotive ecosystem from research and development, manufacturing, supply chain, sales, and aftersales into local markets, ensuring products are designed, tested, and supported with local needs in mind.

The experience also highlighted GWM’s engineering depth and commitment to quality, with media delegates touring the brand’s Crash Test Laboratory, one of Asia’s most advanced safety facilities. Here, GWM showcased its pursuit of safety standards across its global lineup, supported by extensive in-house testing and validation. This was followed by a visit to the GWM Hydrogen Energy Center, a key pillar of the company’s “Forest Ecosystem” strategy, outlining its long-term roadmap toward diversified and sustainable mobility solutions.
Through The GWM Haval H9 Experience, GWM Philippines continues to build anticipation for the arrival of the GWM Haval H9, while reinforcing the brand’s position as a globally established automotive company with a clear strategy, strong engineering foundation, and long-term commitment to the Philippine market.
The GWM Haval H9 officially launches in the Philippines on February 4, 2026.
