“Grab’s mission has always been to drive the transport industry of Southeast Asia forward. While we already have a diverse set of services in our app, it’s about time we take a look at jeeps—one of the most traditional forms of transportation in the Philippines. We want to empower commuters with the same freedom we provide our passengers,” said Khriz Lim, Grab Philippines’ country marketing head.

Jeepneys are among the most common form of transportation for commuters in Metro Manila. With GrabJeep, Grab upgraded the everyday jeepney experience to provide the same quality of safety and convenience to passengers.

Ultimately, the campaign aims to improve and upgrade old jeeps so that jeepney passengers will be able to experience more comfortable trips. GrabJeep rides will be free for the whole duration of the campaign but the passengers can also opt to donate to help in the upgrading of old jeepneys.

“While we are constantly improving our services, we’d like other forms of transportation to be upgraded as well,” Lim added.

Equipped with Wi-Fi, television and air conditioning system, GrabJeeps roam around EDSA daily with 11 stops: Magallanes, Ayala, Buendia, Guadalupe, Boni, Shaw, Megamall, Ortigas, Santolan, Araneta and SM North EDSA. All the stops are accessible to business districts, MRT stations, and malls to make it more convenient for passengers to travel. They’ll be running from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m.
