If you use Google’s stock keyboard or download it in the Play Store, you now have a new feature to play around with. Google Keyboard on Android now has more themes to choose from than “material light” or “material dark.” There are now a number of different colors, ranging from reds, to greens, to pinks, to grays, etc. Plus, you can also use an image of your choice if the pre-selected colors aren’t your thing.
This new feature puts Google up against third-party keyboards in Android. And we’re all for variety. Android Nougat will be introducing themes into the operating system, but if you can’t wait you can start with customizing your keyboard.
The app is already available for download and the update is rolling out for users. Some of the other new features introduced into Google Keyboard include additional languages for gesture typing and suggestions, the addition of recently used emojis in the suggestion strip, Android Nougat support, and bug fixes for issues such as missing key labels and including passwords with Talkback.
