Nissan raised the bar in the media ride-and-drive experience as they brought the local motoring media to the very remote and mystical island of Siquijor. Nissan’s ‘Go Anywhere’ 2019 drive underscored how the brand’s trucks and SUVs can literally go anywhere with confidence by visiting almost any location across the archipelago. Starting with the recent Nissan Patrol drive in Taal, Batangas, the tour now continues to the mystical island of Siquijor — noted for being one of the country’s most difficult
destinations to access.
It was an thoroughly impressive feat as Nissan brought together its strong LCV line-up — the luxurious and sophisticated Patrol, the spacious Terra, and the tough and smart Navara — to test and showcase their capabilities as they tackled the largely undiscovered island’s scenic and remote winding roads.
The three-day event was designed to test all three vehicles as the media navigated their way through some of Siquijor’s breathtaking destinations. During the drive, participants were posed a challenge: Go Anywhere and reach the most number of kilometers in the country’s third smallest province. With its strong LCV heritage and Nissan Intelligent Mobility features, navigating the roads of the small island proved to be a very easy feat for the three vehicles. Known for its mystic traditions, Siquijor also boasts lush forests, pristine beaches, diving cliffs, waterfalls and caves.
“In line with our vision of enabling adventurers to reach their dream destinations, we are now in Siquijor Island, to conquer the country’s third smallest province with Nissan’s strong LCV line-up. We are creating the ultimate ‘Go Anywhere’ experience with the Nissan Patrol, Nissan Terra and Nissan Navara, but exploring the best and most diverse locations across the country,” said Nissan Philippines president and managing director, Atsushi Najima.
To overcome the challenge, media participants took the Patrol with its powerful V8 and rally-proven off-road capability to visit some of the island’s exciting spots. Meanwhile, an adventurous off-road trek on the island highlighted the powerful drivetrain of the Terra and the comfortable yet capable ride of the Navara. The challenge was taken to the next level with difficult slopes to test out the vehicles’ Hill Descent Control and Hill Start Assist features powered by Nissan Intelligent Mobility.
The test drive demonstrated that with the advanced Nissan Intelligent Mobility features, Nissan continuously shows its commitment to enable users to “Go Anywhere” with power, confidence and ease — even on undiscovered islands like Siquijor.
