Globe provides free mobile data access to COVID KAYA, CART System

Globe has partnered with the Department of Health (DOH) and the World Health Organization (WHO) in providing free mobile data access to COVID KAYA and the CART System for fast, accurate, and real time report delivery on COVID-19.  These platforms are for the benefit of frontliners and suspected COVID-19 patients.

With the partnership, all frontliners who are required to enter their information in COVID KAYA mobile app as well as suspected COVID-19 patients who need to access the CART System site at https://detectcovid.doh.gov.ph, may do so without incurring mobile data charges as long as they use their Globe or TM account.

“The Department of Health (DOH) is grateful to Globe for providing free mobile data to its users in order to access COVID KAYA and CART System. With this partnership, our patients, laboratories, and health care facilities can provide timely and accurate information that will strengthen our national response. We are grateful to all our partners who helped develop and make this tool accessible to our frontliners,” Health Secretary Francisco T. Duque III said.

“Globe is committed to helping the nation address the current crisis especially through technology.  Through this initiative, we hope this further helps the DOH in detecting incidents and gathering information on COVID-19 so we can have a comprehensive and evidence-based national response to the pandemic.” said Yoly Crisanto, Globe Chief Sustainability Officer and SVP for Corporate Communications.

COVID KAYA is an electronic case investigation form used by local government units, laboratories, and hospitals to input COVID-19 patients details and information which can be seen by other facilities of DOH for faster and easier validation of cases. The COVID KAYA app was developed by DOH Epidemiology Bureau with support from WHO and Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT).

“The availability of timely and complete information from health facilities to identify suspected, probable and confirmed COVID-19 cases, and tracing down their close contacts, is crucial to stop transmission of the virus and save lives,” said Dr. Socorro Escalante, Acting WHO Representative in the Philippines. “COVID KAYA is a helpful tool for the government and public health workforce, making it faster to collect, analyze and share information to aid crucial decision making for the response.”

The CART System, on the other hand, is a patient information system which allows suspected COVID-19 patients to get on queue in a specific testing center before going to the facility.  This gives the facility control over the number of people visiting to prevent overcrowding.

The assistance being provided by Globe is also in support of the UN Sustainable Development Goal No. 3 which ensures healthy lives and promotes wellbeing for all at all ages.  To know more about Globe, visit www.globe.com.ph.
