Given the chance to try out the smartphone in Dawn Gold, I instantly grew fond of the design that looks stunning and premium in every angle, with a bonus of a fingerprint-proof finish. Adding elegance to the rear is the subtle gold vivo logo situated at the bottom left portion.
Being out and about comes with being a hustler, that’s why we don’t need extra baggage holding us down. Fortunately, the Y35 is suited in a relatively lightweight body, 188g and 8.28mm thickness, providing ease that users need while travelling. In addition, the rounded corners with 2.5D body design render a comfortable, yet secure grip. Noteworthy is the convenience of the side-mounted fingerprint scanner as well.

Bright, immersive screen display
The complementing powers of the 6.58-inch FHD+ screen display and 90Hz refresh rate resulted in immersive and smooth visuals. What I find therapeutic is capping off a long day with my favorite series, so I was able to appreciate the high resolution of the Y35. That means clear and sharp details wherever I go. Further, the 550 nits of brightness helped maintain screen visibility even in broad daylight. And finally, for the comprehensive audio-visual experience, the Audio Booster mode came in handy while watching in a noisy environment. This feature can also be useful during situations when you must attend Zoom meetings while on-the-go; the audio booster will prevent you from missing any important detail the speaker says.
Highly capable camera
The rear comprises the 50MP main camera, 2MP Bokeh camera, and 2MP macro camera. Equipped with large sensors, I was impressed with the outcome of the images captured with the main camera. They were above average, exhibiting sharp enough details and rich colors. For video content, the rear received Electronic Image Stabilization to improve clarity of shots in low-light conditions.
The Super Night camera worked like a charm — even if you’re having dinner in a fancy dim-lit restaurant or playing sports outdoors, the quality of the photos remains uncompromised. The details were still visible with very little noise, and the colors retained their vibrance.

High performance for work and play

Hence, I didn’t encounter any delays running and switching to several apps, which is valuable when you like to get things done immediately.
Equally importantly, it doesn’t fall short in bringing entertainment. I was able to play demanding games like Mobile Legends and Asphalt 9 — both at the highest graphic setting — without any lags. This goes to show that the vivo Y35 doesn’t just deliver for your work needs, but also for play. The overall experience during light to heavy load remained constantly smooth.
In my past experiences, what ticked me off is in the middle of capturing images or videos, I get notified that my storage is full. It’s a major issue if your job is creating content, which involves taking lots of footage. And I’m sure I’m not the only one held back by this nuisance. That’s why the generous 256GB capacity with up to 1TB expansion of the Y35 calls for a mini celebration. It gives you the freedom to download as many apps and store as many photos and videos (great if you’re a memory hoarder too!).
Long productive hours with minimal downtime
Housing a large 5000mAh battery, the longevity of your smartphone will be the least of your worries.
