When it comes to well-rounded devices that leave users more than satisfied, the realme Number series has consistently stayed on people’s radar. Much of this comes down to its stylish design, beautiful display, capable camera system, and reliable performance — all without the hefty price tag often associated with smartphones in this category. But does the latest iteration — the realme 15 Pro 5G — manage to live up to that reputation? Read on to find out.

Design and build

The realme 15 Pro 5G has a smooth, luscious, velvety-like texture at the rear. Our unit comes in Velvet Green, which is definitely my bias. It’s also available in Flowing Silver, and it looks equally elegant and luxurious in its own way.

The device delivers on ergonomics, offering you a comfortable grip with its rounded corners and curved display. The slim, lightweight build at just 7.84mm and 187g amplifies this experience as well.

You won’t have to worry much about daily wear and tear as it’s built with numerous IP ratings: IP66, IP68, and IP69 for dust and water resistance. That’s the full trio you want for that peace of mind on a rainy day.

Display

Up front is a large 6.8-inch AMOLED display with a 1.5K resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. As someone who spends breaks binge-watching Netflix series, I was genuinely impressed by how sharp the details look. Colors pop without being over the top, staying true to what you’d see in real life.

What stands out is the contrast ratio. Blacks are deep, whites are well-balanced, and details remain crisp. You’ll really notice this whether you’re watching dark or brightly-lit scenes.

Visibility outdoors won’t be a problem either with its 6,500nits of peak brightness. This makes it easy to work on my device on the go or de-stress with a bit of content.

Camera

The realme 15 Pro 5G comes equipped with a triple-camera system, consisting of a 50MP (f/1.8) Sony IMX896 main camera, a 50MP (f/2.0) ultra-wide lens, and a 50MP front camera for selfies.

When using the main camera in good lighting, the photos showcased a good amount of detail and vibrant, like-like colors. Even without a dedicated telephoto lens, I was impressed by the quality of the images taken at 2x zoom. You’ll barely notice any difference, especially when the lighting is on your side.

As for low-light photography, the realme 15 Pro 5G holds up well, producing decent-quality photos while preserving detail and color. It’s just what you need for a night out with friends, as it lets you capture aesthetic nighttime shots without the quality taking a dip.

For selfies, I found myself reaching for the 0.8x zoom on the front camera to achieve better composition when friends are in the frame. The quality also proved reliable, with colors staying true to our skin tones even in less favorable lighting.

“This time around, realme introduces AI camera features, giving you a variety of tools to capture cleaner, clearer, and more creative shots. These include AI Magic Glow 2.0 for setting different lighting moods, AI Party Mode, AI Smart Remover 2.0, AI Ultra Clarity 2.0, AI Glare Removal, and more.

Lastly, if shooting videos is more of your thing, the device supports 4K recording at 30fps.

Performance

Under the hood, the device is powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 processor, paired with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. Multitasking feels smooth and responsive even with multiple apps running in the background, especially with the boost from the Dynamic RAM Expansion feature, bringing total RAM to 26GB.

My typical routine includes checking emails, snapping photos and videos, browsing the web, and streaming Netflix series. It can handle it effortlessly even if I do sustained hours of shooting. When it comes to gaming, running titles like Asphalt Legends and Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, gameplay remains smooth and immersive without any noticeable hitches or frame drops.

Battery and charging

Since I’m always out and about, charging the realme 15 Pro 5G was the least of my concerns. With a 7,000 mAh battery, long days of usage are easily handled without constantly reaching for a charger.

With my mix of daily activities, the realme 15 Pro 5G easily lasts up to two days on a single charge. And when I eventually ran out of juice, the 80W SUPERVOOC fast charging had me back to 100% in just a little over an hour.

Verdict

All things considered, the realme 15 Pro 5G proves that the Number series is a well-rounded lineup — one that doesn’t just satisfy, but genuinely impresses with what it offers in every department. It doesn’t cut corners despite the accessible price tag. Because, honestly, in a segment where many leave you wanting more, this one doesn’t.

In true Number series fashion, it offers a fashionable design that caters to various tastes, a vivid display for an immersive viewing experience, impressive camera capabilities for creators, and everyday reliability in performance and battery life. All that comes at a wallet-friendly price: PHP 20,999 (12GB + 256GB) for a limited time.
