ASUS caps off the first month of 2021 by launching its latest ASUS ZenBook 14 UX435 on their official Facebook page. It’s the world’s smallest 14-inch laptop with a ScreenPad and NumberPad to be able to level up one’s experience, bringing convenience and luxury in one.
Build and Design
The UX435 is the ZenBook’s slimmest and most refined design yet with just a 16.9mm thinness, weighing only 1.19kg. The laptop itself is composed of a premium Aluminum Chassis with a spun-metal finish which adds to the slim and portable form factor. While lightweight, it still meets a U.S. military grade quality test standard (MIL-STD 810H). All of these features and more will be available in two elegant colors: a very professional-looking Pine Grey and a highly fashionable Lilac Mist.
The ZenBook 14 also has an innovative 4-sided NanoEdge display that allows for a 92% screen-to-body ratio for unparalleled viewing. It is also TUV Rheinland-certified, meaning it reduces blue light emissions to avoid eyestrain for those who can’t take their eyes off the screen.
Performance
Under the hood you will find an Intel Core i7-1165G7 processor, NVIDIA GeForce MX450 graphics which can handle virtually any work task you throw at it, and a high-capacity 63Wh battery for up to 12 hours of battery life on average. The UX435 is also available with an Intel Core i5-1135G7.
The ZenBook 14 also offers a range of productivity features, from exclusive ScreenPad enlarging for dual displays, NumberPad 2.0, ASUS WiFi Master technology for quick connectivity, and a range of I/O ports (2x Thunderbolt 4 USB-C, 1x USB 3.2, 1x HDMI, 1x audio jack, 1x Micro SD slot). As a content creator myself, these ports are useful and prevents one from spending extra on the dongles just to have more ports. In addition, the device also has a 3D IR camera for quick login using Windows facial recognition technology, and last but not least, it also features a precision-engineered ErgoLift hinge that auto-tilts for optimum typing comfortability. This ErgoLift also ensures a more optimized cooling system for the laptop and enhanced audio quality from its speakers.
One notable highlight of the ZenBook 14 is the revolutionary ScreenPad situated where the tracking pad is. This innovative multitasking tool was created to operate like a smartphone’s touchscreen, as you swipe left to go to go to a previous page or manage apps, for instance. ScreenPad can also double as a secondary screen and is used with the convenient App Switcher and App Navigator apps. On top of all this, the ScreenPad even has a Light/Dark mode option so the user can truly customize the look and feel of their Zenbook.
The ZenBook 14 UX435 is definitely well-designed and feature-packed in a 14-inch body. Make sure to stay tuned for our full review as we deep dive and get to know
