Breakups are tough. Whether it was a clean or messy one, you don’t want anything to do with your ex at the moment. Facebook hopes to make the digital transition easier for you. The social network is testing out new features in the US at the moment to help you see less of your ex, at least digitally. If you stalk them in real life, then that’s a different problem altogether.
Some of the new features they’re trying out are currently only available on mobile. Listed below are some of those said features:
- See less of your partner’s name, profile photo, and posts—without having to block or unfriend them. (Well, you could become friends in the future, if you wanted to.)
- Your ex’s name won’t show up as a suggestion when you want to write a message or tag a photo
- You can also limit what posts of yours he/she sees.
- You can also edit who sees your past posts with your ex and even untag yourself in posts with him/her
We’re waiting for the day Facebook brings the feature here. There’s no specific timeline for that yet. But features like this might make it easier to actually move on.
