BYD Cars Philippines and ACMobility have strengthened their commitment to transformative and sustainable mobility by delivering 41 BYD Dolphin electric vehicles to the City Government of Valenzuela.

In line with the LGU’s modernization efforts, Greenstrum, a subsidiary of ACMobility, has installed a network of 15 units of 7 kW AC chargers across 12 locations in Valenzuela. These chargers will conveniently and reliably charge the city’s BYD Dolphin EV patrol car fleet in the various communities they serve.

As part of ACMobility’s expanding electric vehicle infrastructure, it will also install public EV charging points at various locations throughout the city, starting with a 60 kW DC fast charger located at the Alert Station in Valenzuela. This, along with future public ACMobility chargers to be established in various locations throughout the city, will be visible in the Evro app and made available to the general public.

With this milestone, Valenzuela becomes the first local government unit (LGU) in the Philippines to operate the country’s largest electric vehicle police fleet. The initiative supports the city’s broader efforts to reduce emissions and promote cleaner, more efficient public services and good governance.

“ACMobility and BYD Cars Philippines are proud to turn over this fleet of 41 BYD Dolphin electric vehicles to the City of Valenzuela. These EVs will now serve and protect the people, not just as tools of law enforcement, but as symbols of a cleaner, smarter, and more responsible future,” said Bob Palanca, Managing Director of BYD Cars Philippines.

Of the 41 BYD Dolphin units deployed, 35 have been assigned to the Valenzuela City Police Station for active patrol and law enforcement duties. City government offices will utilize five units, while one will serve as a first responder vehicle. Each Dolphin is driven by a 95 PS electric motor and powered by a 44.9 kWh BYD Blade Battery, capable of delivering up to 405 kilometers of range on a single charge. All units support fast charging from 10% to 80% in approximately 30 minutes—ideal for the demands of government and emergency operations. Police units have also been upfitted with lights, sirens, and integrated communications systems.

“By aiming to be the first LGU in the Philippines with the largest fleet of electric vehicles and the most extensive network of government and public charging stations strategically located in NLEX, in MacArthur, and in Mindanao Avenue, we have become torchbearers of the country,” said Valenzuela City Mayor Wes Gatchalian.

He adds, “This is just the beginning of a transformative journey. By strategically placing charging stations in major thoroughfares and vibrant urban centers, we are promoting the use and making the transition to electric vehicles effortless, convenient, and accessible to all Valenzuelanos.”
