One of the much-awaited tech giants on CES, Sony unveils their newest products for your living room, your car and for capturing your most precious moments.
Two new 4K HDR TVs
Sony announced 2 new 4K HDR TVs that delivers unmatched picture quality. The XBR-A1E Bravia OLED series combines the outstanding technology of OLED powered by Sony’s 4K HDR Processor X1 Extreme, the world’s first Acoustic Surface sound system and the unique stand-less form factor. The A1E series features over 8 million self-illuminating pixels that delivers true-to-life quality to your living room.
The A1E also features the first of its kind audio technology that emit sound from the screen itself, which helped to cut down on the bulkiness of the screen. It produces a wide sound from all angles, and thanks to OLED’s wide viewing angles, accurate representation from the sides.
Sony also announced the X930E/X940E series that features new LED backlight driving technology, the Slim Backlight Drive+. This technology further improves on its predecessor of grid-array backlighting system in a slimmer form factor that enables the screen to give a more precise local dimming control. The X930E/X940E series also features the 4K HDR Processor present in the A1E, the 4K HDR Processor X1 Extreme, which offers up to 40 percent more real-time processing power.
EXTRA BASS Headphones series
Bassheads rejoice, Sony expands its lineup of EXTRA BASS headphones series that delivers powerful and enhanced bass response. The MDR-XB950N1 and MDR-XB950B1 delivers wireless performance via Bluetooth connectivity and NFC technology. The model MDR-XB950N1 also features noise cancelling technology. Both headphones can be controlled by a unique smartphone app by Sony called Headphones Connect, which enables the user to choose from a variety of listening environments: Arena, Club, Concert Hall and Outdoor Stage. The app also enables different adjustments for the bass to suit your personal preferences.
The MDR-XB550AP wired on-ear headphones delivers a powerful, deep and punchy bass with its 30mm driver with a range of 5 – 22,000 Hz. The MDR-XB550AP is available in five fun colors: Black, Red, Blue, Green and White. It features an in-line remote with microphone that allows the user to answer/end calls and control your music.
For those with an active lifestyle, the MDR-XB510AS EXTRA BASS in-ear sports headphones features an easy-to-wear style with an arc supporter for a stable fit. It’s also rated with an IPX5/7 water-proof design if you should choose to run in the rain.
Ultra-Short Throw 4K HDR projector
With the uniqueness of Sony’s VPL-VZ1000ES ultra-short throw projector, it opens up a whole new dimension of usage scenarios. Ideally suited for narrow spaces, it can produce a 100-inch image with as little as a 6-inch distance from the wall. It’s approximately 36 x 20 x 9 inches, and blends beautifully with your living room decors when powered off.
The VPL-VZ1000ES Ultra-Short Throw 4K HDR Home Theater Projector will be available in April 2017 with an SRP of US$24,999 (approx. P1.2-million).
In-car audio entertainment
Available in Spring 2017, Sony’s fresh lineup of in-car audio systems allows users to play a variety of media file types and wider range of connectivity.
MEX-N5200BT – Available March 2017 @ US$119.99 (approx. P6,000)
The Bluetooth-compatible MEX-N5200BT is equipped with enhanced smartphone connectivity that enables the user to control the unit with a smartphone app.
MEX-GS620BT – Available February 2017 @ US$179.99 (approx. P9,000)
This receiver is more tailored towards users who seeks a premium sound experience while driving. The MEX-GS620BT is powered by a 4x55W amplifier in a single-DIN dimension with dual Bluetooth connectivity that supports a wide range of music formats.
MEX-M71BT – Available March 2017 @ US$199.99 (approx. P10,000)
The MEX-M71BT is more suited for users who seeks the EXTRA BASS treatment. The Marine treatment equips the unit with a multi-color LCD display and UV-resistant detachable panel, anti-rust, conformal coating for circuit board and FM/AM step-change.
XAV-W651BT and XAV-V631BT – Available February 2017 @ US$279 (approx. P13,800) / US$249 (approx. P12,300)
These AV consoles are for users who want a simple and convenient multimedia player for their vehicles. Voice control through Sony SongPal app or Siri Eyes Free allows for easy navigation without taking your eyes off the road. Also equipped with one-touch connection via NFC, users can simply integrate their smartphones for in-car use.
XA-NV400 – Available February 2017 @ US$329.99 (approx. P16,300)
The XA-NV400 navigation system pairs well with Sony’s compatible AV in-car receivers. It’s your perfect companion equipped with maps from the U.S., Canada and Puerto Rico, and additional maps are available for download via TomTom.
