Televisions are getting smarter and smarter. The remotes for these TVs not so much. And so we rely on an external keyboard and mouse to get the job done. Lenovo wants to streamline this further with the 500 Multimedia Controller.

It’s a keyboard and mouse in one. The entire keypad surface is a touchpad, letting you swipe easily through pages, update on social media, or even just sign into your favorite streaming service without having to fumble with the remote. It’s compact and easily fits in your hands. It’s designed in a way that your thumb can easily reach the keys.

The controller promises an eight-month battery life and has the keyboard layout of standard US English keyboard. It connects wirelessly to your devices via a nano USB dongle. It offers double the wireless range of usual wireless remote with its 65.6ft. range.

The 500 Multimedia Controller is optimized specifically for Windows (from Windows 7 to 10) but we’ll find out what other operating systems it works with when we see it at the showroom floor. Lenovo invited us to Las Vegas to see the company’s latest offerings at CES 2017.

Pricing for the 500 Multimedia Controller starts at US$54.99 (approx. P2,700) and will be available by March. We’ll keep you posted if this accessory will be coming to the Philippines.
