CES has once again come and gone and this year saw some great new technology showed off by some of the world’s top tech companies. Among them is Dell and the company’s ever impressive line of new products from innovative displays and laptops to refreshed product lines that feature the next-generation in processing and graphical technology. We’ve rounded up the best of Dell’s announcements throughout CES to give you a taste of what the company has in store for its fans and customers this year.
The Canvas is the designer’s next-generation desktop
One of the most exciting things Dell showed off at CES 2017 is its new Canvas display, a gigantic but thin touchscreen monitor meant to be laid out horizontally on a user’s desk. The concept of the Canvas is birthed from the smart desk concept the company showed off back in 2014 and is designed, in partnership with Microsoft, for creative professionals. The Canvas can be used flat on the user’s desk or positioned at an angle much like a drafting table and its 27-inch QHD touchscreen can be interfaced with via touch, digital pen, or Totems.
The XPS family grows, adds 13-inch 2-in-1
After the Canvas, Dell showed off a new line of products under its XPS line. Leading the pack is the new XPS 13 2-in-1 which features a 360-degree hinge, a 13-inch QHD+ InfinityEdge touch display, a 7th generation Intel Core vPro processor, a solid-state drive, and up to 15 hours of battery life. The company also unveiled a refreshed and more powerful XPS 15 with 7th generation Intel Core processors, NVIDIA Pascal-based GeForce GTX 100 graphics, and a fingerprint reader.
Lastly, the company showed off its latest XPS 27 AIO with a 27-inch 4K UHD edge-to-edge touch display, a 6th generation Intel Core processor, AMD Radeon Pro graphics, up to 32GB of DDR4 RAM, either SSD or HDD storage, and a whopping ten 50w speakers.
Dell unveils first 8K resolution monitor
It’s only been a few years since 4K resolution displays started coming out and at CES 2017, Dell has already showed off the world’s first 8K resolution monitor, the 32-inch UltraSharp 32 Ultra HD 8K monitor. Dell also announced several other new monitors including a 27-inch Ultrathin InfinityEdge monitor with Quad HD technology as well as 24- and 27-inch InfinityEdge monitors with dual 6W external speakers.
Wireless charging with the Latitude 7285 2-in-1
Aside from just refreshing its line-up of XPS and Latitude devices, Dell also announced a new and pretty exciting feature coming to its new Latitude 7285 2-in-1 – wireless charging. Utilizing WiTricity magnetic resonance wireless charging technology through a charging mat and a WiGig wireless dock, users can just place the Latitude 7285 2-in-1 on the charging mat and it will begin charging and even connect to the WiGig wireless dock.
