TAG Heuer is celebrating Jack Heuer, the great grandson of the iconic watch brand’s founder. Jack is the current TAG Heuer CEO and turns 88 this year. The timepiece made in his honor is a redesigned vintage Heuer Carrera 1158CHN (Jack’s favorite), and the little details found within it bring to mind his story and the history of his family’s brand.
The Carrera Gold Jack Heuer timepiece is exclusive to 188 pieces and crafted in a luxurious 18K rose gold, which was Jack Heuer’s favorite metal and one which he specifically picked out when gifting watches to racing drivers. It has a 42mm fine-brushed and polished casing which contains the in-house Heuer 02 movement (with special oscillating mass and 80H power reserve). The dial is crafted out of sapphire glass while the watch itself has 100m of water resistance. In addition, an 88 symbol in rose gold is situated on the center of the dial to celebrate Jack and represent “life and its perpetual renewal” with a double infinity loop. Keeping the timepiece together is a classic black Alligator leather strap with Jack’s signature imprinted on the inside of it. On the back of the watch overlaid on the visible mechanical movement is a quote and daily reminder from Jack Heuer himself: “Time never stops, why should we?”
The Carrera Gold Jack Heuer is priced at $18,450.00. It’s not yet available for purchase but you can sign up to be notified when it is. Delivery of this exclusive watch will begin in March 2021.
