Canon invites Filipino photographers to capture visual stories that will create lasting impact for the future generation at the Philippine leg of the largest on-the-spot photography contest in Asia. Set to happen on November 10, 2018 at Bonifacio High Street, Taguig City, this year’s Canon Photomarathon Philippines is for the benefit of Operation Smile Philippines.
“Canon has always been about empowering photography lovers by providing superior imaging products and services that allow them to capture and share powerful visual stories wherever they may be,” said Benny Yu, Canon Marketing (Philippines), Inc.’s (CMPI) head of Consumer Imaging and Information division. “In this year’s Canon Photomarathon, we want Filipino photographers to extend the power of their photographs in helping affect change in the lives of children supported by our partner organization Operation Smile Philippines.”
Operation Smile Philippines, which has been a partner of CMPI since 2011, provides free reconstructive facial surgery to indigent children and young adults born with cleft lip and cleft palate deformity. A portion of the registration fee of each of the Canon Photomarathon Philippines participant will be dedicated to help raise funds for the organization to conduct more surgeries and allow more Filipino children to overcome their deformities. Participants may also have their photos printed using Canon Large Format Printers for a very minimal cost through Print for Smiles, an initiative started by Canon to help generate funds for the organization.
