At the recent 12th Philippine Electric Vehicle Summit (PEVS 2024), Bosch emphasized its commitment to advancing electric vehicle (EV) technology as the Philippines accelerates its journey toward sustainable transportation.

With promising growth indicators and strong government support, the summit highlighted increasing public confidence in EVs, particularly among the younger generation who view electric mobility as the future of transportation. The expansion of charging infrastructure, primarily in Luzon, is laying the groundwork for wider adoption. Experts emphasized the critical role of a robust policy framework – including industry development acts, tariff incentives, and consumer subsidy programs – which collectively create an enabling environment for the industry.

At the forefront of this evolution, Bosch is pioneering technological advancements that enhance the overall EV experience. The Bosch Experience Zone offered attendees an opportunity to explore EV technologies while highlighting the company’s diverse technological expertise across multiple domains.

The battery is one of the essential and most costly components in any electric drive system. Its capacity and condition are essential factors that influence the suitability for daily use and overall operating costs of a vehicle or fleet. Bosch has developed Battery in the Cloud (BiTC) – a smart connected solution for improved battery management. With its set of services that are available as modules, Battery in the Cloud not only enhances battery performance and lifetime, it also reduces the risk of sudden breakdowns and plays a part in increasing transparency with regard to the condition of the battery. Additionally, Bosch’s Convenience Charging solution offers smart services to streamline the charging experience, including personalized route planning, accurate range predictions, and seamless payment options. Together, these advancements not only enhance the convenience and efficiency of EV charging but also contribute to a more attractive and accessible electromobility landscape in the Philippines.

Solutions for all performance classes from 0.4 – 3 kW: With its drives, drive control units and value-added functions for light electric vehicles, Bosch creates the technical basis for a safe and efficient riding experience. Bundled as a drive system, the optimally coordinated interaction of both components ensures precise motor management, reliable vehicle performance, and impressive torque development.
