Oris returns to its collaboration with Swiss company Cervo Volante to present the Oris x Cervo Volante with a burnt maple gradient dial. Cervo Volante has become one of Oris’ most valued partners, producing straps and accessories made from sustainably sourced and tanned deer leather.
Every year, the Swiss authorities oversee a carefully managed program of deer population control, a process intended to protect the Alpine forests that are vital to Switzerland’s ecosystem. This creates a volume of waste skins that Cervo Volante turns into beautiful products, each retaining the natural imperfections found in the leather that would prompt many companies to discard it.
The watch, which is based on Oris’ iconic Big Crown Pointer Date, becomes a sustainable style statement. It’s set on a beautiful Cervo Volante deer leather strap in a rich mahogany brown color, and comes with a travel pouch in Cervo Volante sustainable deer leather. Inside it beats Calibre 754, a Swiss Made automatic mechanical movement that provides the watch with its signature pointer date hand, here tipped in a calming forest green.
