A lot of smartphones out on the market can barely last you a day before you’re left scrambling for a power outlet or a power bank. There aren’t that many affordable phones that can last you beyond that. ASUS wants to change that with the ASUS ZenFone Max.
This smartphone packs in a 5,000mAh battery that promises up to 38 DAYS of standby time, web browsing up to 32.5 hours, 3G talk time up to 37.6 hours, and HD video playback up to 22.6 hours. I’ve been using it as my main device for the past few of days and from constant email checking, web surfing, and social media use, I get over 24 hours use out of it. I still need to put it through more tests but it looks like it’ll hold up to its promise.
And yes, you can use the ZenFone Max as a power bank, too, to charge your other poor devices that don’t pack in the same battery life as this baby.
What else does the ZenFone Max have to offer, you ask? There are two versions of it one with leather-like black back cover and a matte white back cover that has the same texture of the other ZenFone devices. Admittedly, it’s thicker in hand but not to the detriment of the device’s usability.
It has a 5.5-inch HD Retina screen protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 4 and Bluelight filter for eye protection. ASUS packs in a 13-megapixel rear camera with laser auto focus, Manual mode, and Super Resolution mode (a software process that lets you take up to 52MP photos by combining four different photos to produce the image). The ZenFone Max also has a 5-megapixel front camera with an 85-degree wide view lens, which is perfect for using the Selfie Panorama feature of this phone.
The ZenFone Max is powered by a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, and 16GB internal storage you can expand via microSD up to 128GB. You even get free 100GB Google Drive storage. And yes, this is a 4G LTE smartphone as well. You get all of these for P8,495, which is a steal if you ask me.
