Gaming isn’t purely visual. It’s an aural experience, too. And you need the best audio equipment to make it an unforgettable experience. ASUS Republic of Gamers hopes to deliver that experience with the new ROG Theta and Theta Electret, which we got to see at Computex 2019.
The ROG Theta is a 7.1 surround-sound USB-C gaming headset that builds on the popularity of the ROG Centurion. It comes with eight discrete drivers and what’s being touted the industry’s first virtual-subwoofer technology to deliver 7.1 surround sound directly into your ears. It also features an AI-powered noise-cancelling microphone, which uses machine-learning to identify and cancel out 50 million types of external sounds while also accurately detecting your speech to allow for clear in-game voice communication. It offers lossless audio thanks to the ESS SABRE9601 and ROG-customized 7.1 DAC, which is the same used for high-end ROG motherboards.
The ROG Theta Electret is for the audiophile gamers. It combines high-fidelity electret drivers with dynamic subwoofers for excellent sound quality in different scenarios. ASUS ROG promises true-to-life stereo audio with strong, punchy bass. Its 3.5mm connecting cable is made from silver-plated copper wire, which supports high-frequency sound reproduction and excellent fidelity for all audio types. It also comes with a 3.5mm-6.3mm jack adapter so you can connect this pair of cans to your own hi-fi setup. The Theta Electret also has an integrated boom for better in-game voice communications. This feature has been certified by both TeamSpeak and Discord.
